After Chase was whisked away by Katie, Marshall went into his puphouse, angry about the outcome of the mission. How could they have known? He punched the wall, whining at the pain before growling. I'm tired of this. Always running away from danger. He flipped a switch, transforming the puphouse into his truck. Ryder needs help. He quietly turned on his engine and raced off towards the hospital. He stopped, looking back at the Lookout. Don't worry, Chase. Ryder's coming home. He sped off into the night.

"Zuma, put Chase on ice. Rocky, come with me." Katie rushed downstairs towards the basement, Rocky right behind her.

"What are we going to-"

"I need you to track Marshall's collar while I try to communicate with him." Rocky nodded, hopping into his chair and typing furiously. "Marshall?" Katie asked into her headset. "Marshall, can you hear me?"

*silence*

"Katie, according to the tracker, Marshall's here!" He pointed to a dot on the screen.

"That's just outside... Skye?"

"Yes, Katie?"

"Can you spot Marshall outside?"

"I'll check," she barked. Using her jetpack, she flew around the Lookout, looking for the missing dalmatian. She spotted the familiar orange and yellow glow of his collar. "I think I found him!" Swooping down, she landed next to the collar, barking and yipping. "Marshall, we've been looking all-" She paused, noticing the collar wasn't attached to his owner.

"Skye?" Katie asked.

"We've got a problem," she replied, staring at the blinking fire emblem.

As Ryder limped through the forest, he tried to remain as quiet as possible. He didn't know how far he'd need to be from the compound before Humdinger would stop looking for him. Limping as quickly as he could, carefully stepping over the branches he could see, he reached a road. I could try to flag someone down, he thought before shaking his head. No, I can't risk one of Humdinger's guards catching me. Quickly, he sprinted across the road, ducking into a bush when he heard a car. He held his breath as the car slowly drove by, a flashlight shining around him. "Area 37 clear, move on," he heard someone say.

How much land do they own, Ryder thought. When he didn't hear the car, he peered out, sighing with relief. His ankle throbbed, but he ignored it. It was a small price to pay for his escape. He continued trudging along in the forest, tripping over rocks and small twigs. Keeping his breath steady, he listened for any movement, animal or human. How long will I be able to survive out here? A whirring sound made Ryder stop in his tracks. He stood behind a tree as he listened to the sound. Helicopter? Looking up, he spotted one, two, three helicopters, all equipped with spotlights. Desperately looking for a place to hide, he crouched down, making himself smaller. Hoping the leaves would provide enough cover, he watched as the spotlights grew closer to him, one by one. Inches away, Ryder held his breath, praying they wouldn't find him.

Suddenly, he heard another car drive by. The spotlights all converge on the car. Ryder heard some shots fired before a fiery blast erupted just a few feet away. Gulping, he took the chance and rushed in the opposite direction. No longer caring about dodging the branches and twigs, he ran as fast as he could with a sprained ankle. He knew he'd be in pain much later, but the adrenaline pumping through his system helped. His body was in fight or flight mode, not caring about anything but escaping.

He tripped, flipping head over heels down a steep slope. His arms and face were slashed by rough rocks and twigs. He tried to grab onto anything in order to get a grip, but it was too late. He landed with a splash into a pond. Try as he might, the cold shock to his body delivered the final blow. Worn out, he sank to the bottom, letting out one last breath as his eyes shut.
