"I have decided to help," the Alpha said. An eerie silence filled the air. Not a wolf nor pup breathed. "Silo, you have shown great courage to face me today. When I took you under my wing, I knew you'd make a great Alpha someday." The Alpha walked over to him. "That day is today. For this mission, and this mission only, you are in charge. I will let you take our finest warriors. Group Omega." A group of wolves stepped forward. "From now until you return, you are under Silo's command. Understood?"

"Yes, Alpha."

"Good. Silo." He placed wrapped a paw around the younger wolf. "Please be careful."

"Thank you, Alpha. Omega, follow us." Marshall and Silo took the lead. When they found Rocky, he was nervous as he saw the group of wolves behind us. "Don't worry, pup. They're with us. Let's go!" Together, as one, all canines ran through the forest, dodging trees and shrubs.

"Chase, we're headed back with a caviar," Marshall said.

"Caviar?" Chase replied with a chuckle. "You mean 'cavalry'?"

"Whatever. What's going on?"

"Ryder and the soldiers found a secret tunnel. I'm waiting for you to come back so we can follow."

"Be there in two minutes." Marshall cut the communication, catching up with the others. A sudden sound in the sky halted them. They scurried into the bushes.

Chase heard the sound as well. He pressed against the wall in caution. Helicopter, he thought. "Ryder," he said. "Something's going on outside." He pressed harder against the wall, feeling it give a little. "What's this?" With a little kick, a panel opened, revealing a second tunnel, albeit smaller. "There's another tunnel up here."

"Wait until the other's arrive," Ryder. "Radio silence." They pressed on in the dark tunnel. There was only one direction to go in, and the soldiers moved cautiously, looking everywhere for a trap. A sudden hiss of air made them pause. "Rubble?"

"What is that?" He asked. They saw a gray cloud of mist approaching them. The temperature in the tunnel dropped dramatically.

"Liquid nitrogen!" Ryder yelled. "Run!" He picked Rubble up and ran. The group scattered, running down the tunnel. Rounding a corner, there was no way out. "We're trapped!"

"What effect does liquid nitrogen have on the entire body?" a soldier asked.

"No one knows," Ryder said. "B-but we'll def-definitely g-get hy-hy-hypotherm-mia." He held a whimpering Rubble close to his chest. They all started shivering. "Ch-Chase!" Ryder called out. "D-don't come d-down here!"

"Ryder? What's going on?" Chase felt the floor begin to cool. "What's happening?"

"I-I love y-you, Ch-Ch-" The radio went silent.

"Ryder?!" Suddenly, the door to the main tunnel shut. "No!" Chase yelled, scratching at the door. "No!" Panting, he sat back on his haunches a let out a mournful howl.

Silo immediately picked it up. "Something's wrong. We must hurry." The pack moved at astonishing speeds. Marshall and Rocky found it difficult to keep up, but were determined not to fall behind. Soon, they arrived at the hospital. "The lobby. It's been blown up."

"Chase," Rocky contacted. "Chase, you there?"

"I-I'm here," he said, walking slowly through the doors.

"What happened?" Marshal asked. "Where are the others?"

"They went down into that tunnel," he said, pointing towards a metal door. "Ryder ordered us not to come down. He was stuttering and the transmission cut off." He looked at his paws. "Skye and Zuma haven't checked in in a while."
