"So..." Humdinger chuckled. "We meet again, my boy." He walked up to the glass tank. Ryder glared at him. "Why all the hostility? None of this would have happened had you given in to my-"

"You are the most insane person I've ever met!" Ryder interjected. "I can't believe my father worked with you."

"Well, you better believe it." He walked over to a computer. "He stole Chase from me. The other pups, I don't know how they escaped. No doubt it had to be your father's doing. But, no matter." He flicked a switch. Electricity rushed through the tank, shocking Ryder and the soldiers. They all collapsed. "I'm through with you, anyhow. Dispose of them, like the bulldog." His men nodded, dragging their limp bodies out of the tanks. "Prepare for the other pups. Specifically..." An image appeared on the computer. A gray mixed-breed appeared on screen. "The mutt. He is the key."

Rocky stood on guard near the front door of Katie's while she and Marshall treated the pups. Zuma was priority, his tail still frozen solid. She didn't bother asking where Ryder or Rubble were. She feared the worst. Skye stayed with Zuma as he shivered uncontrollably.

In the back, Marshall and Chase were arguing as quietly as they could. "We have to go back!" Chase hissed. "We have to save them and take down Humdinger."

"Chase, think for a second. Humdinger has always been one step ahead of us. We need to think of more than one plan."

"We may not have time for more than one plan! We've got to do something, quick!" Marshall sighed.

"Chase, remember when you were out of it?" Chase nodded. "I know how much you care about Ryder, even more so in the past few months. But, we can't just jump straight into the battlefield. We've got to think about this, otherwise, we risk capture. Think about the other pups." Marshall paused for a few seconds. "Rubble got captured. Do you want to risk all of our lives?"

The shepherd shook his head, sighing. "No. But we can't just sit here."

"We won't. We have the training already. We're more than capable of a search, rescue, and capture. We just need the right plan." Chase nodded.

A knock at the door alerted them. "Come in, Rocky," Chase said. "What's up?"

Rocky shut the door behind him. "I was scanning for Rubble's collar and I have good news." He displayed a new map. A wrench icon appeared.

"You found him?" Marshall said, tail wagging hopefully.

"Maybe. This is his collar. Now..." He moved the map around a bit. "This is underground the hospital. I spent a few hours working out the blueprints. If we go back a few hours..." Rubble's icon moved back near ground level.

"The tunnel," Chase said. They watched as the icon continued moving at a steady pace before picking up speed. "They were being chased by something." The icon abruptly stopped. Marshall and Chase turned their heads.

"I think they hit a dead end. From what I could tell, I was able to map out a possible route." A grid covered the map, outline Rubble (and hopefully Ryder's) whereabouts. "This is where he, or at least his collar is, now." It was far below the hospital, and some distance away from the tunnel.

"So we have at least some evidence that they might still be there," Marshall said. "Question is, how do we get in, rescue them, and capture-"

"Or take down," Chase growled.

"Or take down," Marshall nodded. "Humdinger."

Rocky shrugged. "Maybe we don't rescue them first. Maybe we take down Humdinger first."
