Five ➵ Injury

"Areum?" He asks softly and walks towards me. "Why are you crying?"

"I-I just don't feel well." I whisper and look away.

"Do you expect me to believe that?" He frowns and sits next to me.

"I'm not lying."

"I know it's Kim Eui. I saw your face when you saw her. You looked petrified."

"I am not scared of it." I say begrudgingly.

"It?" He raises his eyebrows and I sigh. "I knew she was the problem. Spill."

"She goes to my school and she's a bitch, that's all."

"I know there's more to the story, Areum."

"Fine," I sigh, giving up. "She bullies me."

"What?" He shouts loudly and I jump. "She bullies you?"

"I guess," I mumble quietly. "But don't tell Vernon. I don't want to interfere and you never know, she might've changed."

"I doubt it, bullies never change. You need to tell Vernon."

"Wonwoo, I'm not going to tell him and neither are you."

He sighs. "Fine, but let me know if she says or does anything to you, yeah? Do you want to come for a swim?"

"I'll think about it." I mumble and he nods, patting my knee before standing up.

"I'm going back outside now, don't be long." He says before leaving again.

I groan loudly and stand up. I grab my bag and pull out a pair of Dino's waterproof shorts and an old shirt before changing. I rub my smudged mascara off my face and apply it again before tying my hair up into a lose bun. I'm only going out for Wonwoo.

"Areum, you're back!" Jeonghan cheers when he sees me.

I notice Wonwoo smile in satisfaction and Kim Eui roll her eyes.

"I'm back." I laugh as I run into the cold water with them.

I feel hands wrap around my waist and I look up to see Jun. He then lifts me up slightly and I shake my head in protest.

"No, don't you da-" I'm too late; he uses his commendable strength to lift me and throw me into the water.

I scream as my head goes below the surface, my hair immediately soaking and my makeup running off.

"Wen Junhui!" I gasp, calling him by his full name. I run towards him and catch him off balance, pushing him into the water.

"Water fight!" Mingyu calls and suddenly everyone is inside the water besides Hansol and Kim Eui, who are too preoccupied with each other to notice.

Minghao pushes Woozi into the sea and his newly dyed hair fades ever so slightly.

"Minghao!" He shouts and pushes him back.

"Watch out, guys, we're coming in!" Vernon calls and I turn to see him and Eui jogging into the water, hand in hand.

She's attired in a cherry pink, strapless bikini which only just covers her . Her figure is impeccable and I can't resist the feelings of jealousy and insecurity which swarm through me.

"Just ignore her." Wonwoo surprises me by whispering right next to my ear.

I nod, "I will."

"I want to play too!" Eui says loudly. "But nobody wet my face or hair!"

"They won't, babe." Vernon responds and I cringe. Babe, really? Disgusting.

"So, Areum," Eui says menacingly when the boys are all preoccupied in a water fight.

I back away from her slightly. "What do you want?"

"Oh, just some fun." She laughs and splashes me with water.

I frown in anger and reach my hand under the water, splashing her back. Immediately, a huge patch of makeup runs off her face like a waterfall and she gasps in horror. I force myself to stifle the laugh which threatens to come out of my mouth.

"What did you just do?" She asks calmly and a stupid, adrenaline-filled part of me decides it's a good idea to repeat my actions, so I do. Her hair transforms from being perfectly straight and smooth to frizzy and curly and more of her makeup runs.

"Oops." I snigger.

"You bitch!" She shouts and pushes me backwards. I expect to fall straight into the water and onto soft sand but instead, my hand comes into contact with a sharp object I soon realise is glass and I shriek in pain.

"Areum!" Wonwoo calls and the boys all run towards me.

"What happened?" Vernon asks.

"You're bleeding!" Dino shouts and grabs my hand.

"We were playing and she fell." Eui lies and I grit my teeth as Wonwoo glares at her.

"Come on, there's a first aid kit inside of the van." Dino says and gently pulls me out of the water.

"I'll come too." Seungkwan says and I smile appreciatively.

I flinch when a thin, white bandage is wrapped around my cut hand. I hiss as Dino tightens it and ties a knot to stop it falling off.

"Does it still hurt as much?" Seungkwan asks, crouched beside me on the floor next to the seat I'm sitting on.

"It's going away now." I assure him and my brother.

"I'm going to help set up the tents now, you can stay here and rest." Dino tells me and I nod.

"Alright."

We'd brought a few tents to sleep in for the days we weren't near a hotel, like today. Since the beach is a public area, we decided to camp here on a field next to the sand.

I hear a knock at the door. "Come in!"

The door slides open revealing Wonwoo and Jun. "How are you?" They ask in unison and I giggle.

"I'm alright, thanks. Shouldn't you both be helping with the tents?"

"We already set ours up, Ar." Jun smiles and sits beside me.

"I told him," Wonwoo says and I snap my head to look at him. "About Kim Eui."

"What?" I ask, raising my voice. He had no right. I haven't even told my twin and now Jun knows too.

"You don't need to panic, I won't tell anyone. It's just precautionary, incase something else happens like today, it was obvious she pushed you." Jun reassures me.

Wonwoo nods in agreement. "He's right. We just want to keep you safe, Areum."
