Seven ➵ Ferris Wheel

I wake up in the morning, inside of the tent with a large smile on my face. Memories of last night which I shared with Joshua flood back and I grin.

"Good morning." I say to Dino when I climb outside the tent.

But he doesn't smile back. Instead, as he looks at me angrily, I notice Joshua standing beside him with his head low.

"Would you two like to explain what you were doing in the early hours of the morning?"

"N-Nothing-" I stutter.

"Bullshit, Areum." Dino snaps and Joshua glares at him.

"Don't talk to her like that, Dino."

"She's my sister, I'll talk to her how I want!" Dino says angrily and Joshua sighs in defeat.

"We were just talking, that's all."

"That's all?" Dino asks rhetorically in a sarcastic manner. "I saw you kiss!"

"We didn't!" Joshua and I say in unison.

"I know what I saw! Right before you went back to your own tent, Joshua, you leaned forward and kissed her!"

"On the forehead!" Joshua exclaims.

"Oh..."

"It was all just a misunderstanding, Dino." I smile and place a hand onto his shoulder.

"Good. But if I see anything else suspicious, Jisoo, I will cut your hair when you're asleep."

"You wouldn't dare-"

I laugh, walking away from the two. I notice Wonwoo packing away some things into the van and I jog towards him.

"Hey, Woowoo." I grin.

"Woowoo?" He smirks, turning around to face me.

"Yeah, that's your new nickname."

"I like it," He grins.

"What are you doing?"

"Just packing away some things. We need to leave soon."

"Where are we going?"

"To an amusement park nearby, I think."

"Oh, great. I love amusement parks," I grin. "Let me help you."

"How is your hand?" Wonwoo asks as I'm lifting some of our belongings into the van.

"It's alright, it just stings a little."

"Hey guys, are we ready to leave yet?" Vernon asks and approaches us, Kim Eui by his side.

"Just about, you can wait in your car. We'll be two minutes." Wonwoo says, smiling. Because Vernon met us later in the day yesterday, he had to drive in his own car here.

"Alright."

When Eui and Vernon disappear into the van, Wonwoo's smile fades and he looks at me seriously.

"Has anything else happened? Please don't lie to save her."

I shake my head. "Nothing happened. I swear."

"Good. But remember to tell either Jun or I if she does anything, okay?"

"Okay."

"Road trip day two!" S.coups shouts loudly from the diver seat once we're all inside of the van. We all cheer as the van begins to move.

I'm sitting beside Dino and Jun with Joshua and Seungkwan opposite me. I haven't spoken properly to Joshua since Dino's unbearably awkward and wrong confrontation, so when my eyes accidentally scan over his and make contact, I immediately look away, embarrassed.

"I don't like Kim Eui." Woozi says suddenly, breaking the silence.

"Neither do I." Minghao laughs and Jeonghan agrees.

"She's bitchy." Dino inputs.

"Vernon will see through her, don't you worry." S.coups says, laughing.

"Woah, I can see the amusement park!" Jun giggles and I turn to look out of the window.

I can see the top of a ferris wheel and a part of a fall roller coaster already. I'm so excited, I've only been to an amusement park once in my life and I was only six.

"We're here! I've already booked our tickets so we can go straight in." S.coups announces as we climb out of the van, meeting up with Vernon and Eui who are waiting outside.

"Where have you all been?" Eui frowns, her arms crossed.

"Baby-" Vernon starts and the boys and I noticeably cringe at the nickname.

"It doesn't matter. Let's go." She says and grabs Vernon's hand before pulling him away.

"I want to go on the ferris wheel," Joshua says. "Does anyone else?"

"I do." I tell him and he smiles widely.

"Come on then, let's go." He says and gently pulls my wrist.

"Everyone meet here in half an hour!" Dino shouts just as he's out of sight.

There is luckily no queue for the ferris wheel so we jump on straight away. It's small and tight fitting, meaning Joshua and I's legs are touching.

"You aren't afraid of heights, are you?" Joshua asks, grinning as the wheel begins to rotate.

"Petrified."

His face turns serious. "Are you joking?"

I then laugh and watch his face transform from a panicked expression to relieved. "I'm kidding."

"Good."

When the cart is a quarter of the way up in the air, Joshua leans forward and it shakes, causing me to let out a scared, quiet scream. He laughs and wraps his arms around me, pulling me closer to him.

"I thought you said you weren't scared." He smirks, his eyes glistening in the sun.

"I'm not." I blush, pushing him gently off me.

He finally lets go and instead, wraps his arm around my shoulder.

"I'm sorry for getting you in trouble with Dino." He says quietly.

"It's alright. He just got the wrong end of the stick, it's not your fault." I say and slowly lean against his shoulder.

"I think you're really cool, Areum. I'm really glad I met you." He says quietly.

"I'm glad I met you too. You know, if I didn't encourage Dino to audition then we would never of met."

"It's a good job you did, then." He smiles widely just as we reach the top of the wheel.

He then slowly moves away and looks at me. His eyes sparkle happily as they stare into mine.

He then leans forward and my eyes widen. Is he going to kiss me?

My eyes flutter shut, waiting for his lips to press against mine. Instead they press against my forehead and I smile.

"Thank you, Areum."
