Fifteen ➵ Thunderstorm p.2

"You're back early." My mum states when I miserably walk through the front door.

"The restaurant service was quick." I answer shortly before heading upstairs and into my bedroom.

I immediately take out my phone to check Twitter and sure enough, photos of Joshua and I together are spreading across the media. Most of his fans are angry, tweeting unkind words about me but I don't care too much, I'm more concerned about Dino finding out.

I change into my pyjamas and wash off the makeup I tried so hard to apply. I'm devastated that we didn't get to even have our date tonight.

I sigh and click onto my contacts, immediately pressing Joshua's name.

After only a few rings, he picks up. "Hey, star."

"Hi." I reply shortly and lie back onto my bed.

"I'm really sorry about-"

"Don't apologise," I cut him off, "It isn't your fault. It's nobody's fault apart from the stupid paparazzi."

"I know. I promise we'll have another date soon, this time it should be more private. Anyway, how did the paparazzi know we were going to be there?"

"That's a good point, actually." I frown, confused.

"They probably followed me to your house when I picked you up, knowing them. They're always so desperate for a story line." He sighs and I can tell he's upset.

"I know but it'll be okay. Having paparazzi following you is just a perk of being famous, Jisoo. You chose the diamond life, after all."

He laughs. "I know, but it gets annoying sometimes, that's all."

"I know, I understand. Every day at school I get pestered for being Dino's twin sister." I tell him, laughing.

"I really miss you," he suddenly admits and I feel my cheeks heating, "I know it's only been an hour or so but it's true...I wish you were here."

"I miss you too, Joshua."

"I need to rest now, I'm really tired but I'll talk to you in the morning, I promise."

"OK, goodnight." I say quietly and he says goodbye before ending the call.

I put my phone by my side and close my eyes, preparing to sleep until I hear my door loudly burst open and so do my eyes. I see an evidently angry Dino storm towards me and my eyes widen.

"Areum, you've got some serious explaining to do." He growls and I sit up, looking at him defeated.

"I know you've seen the photos, okay, just leave me alone. I'm tired and it's late, let's just talk about this in the morning." I groan but he shakes his head.

"Nope, no way, we're talking about this right now."

"But it's ten o'clock." I wine.

"I don't care what time it is, Areum!" He shouts, his face growing progressively red in anger.

"Joshua and I are dating, so what?" I shout back just as loud and he freezes, staring at me with pure anger in his eyes.

"You're...dating?"

"Yes!" I exclaim.

"I'm going to kill him!"

"No, no you're not," I hiss, "stop being so dramatic and being the stereotypical protective brother. I'm sixteen, I'm allowed to date boys, you know? When you got your girlfriend two years ago, did I shout at you? No, I didn't. Did I threaten to murder her? No, I didn't. Just stop and let us be happy together!"

"I just worry about you, Areum, you're my twin sister! Joshua is three years older than you."

"But you know him well and you know he is a gentlemen. He would never treat me wrong."

"Relationships can change people, can't they?" He says angrily and I sigh, knowing his distaste towards Joshua and I's relationship is from a personal experience.

"Dino, I know she hurt you but-"

"Stop!" He shouts, interrupting me, "You don't know anything."

I see his eyes begin to water and my heart breaks.

"Dino..."

"Just leave me alone." He says before storming out of my room, loudly slamming the door behind him.

I decide not to chase after him, knowing time alone is what he needs.

Instead, I lie back down onto my bed, feeling wide awake after the confrontation. I would call Joshua but he's asleep so I decide to try and sleep instead.

After a few restless minutes, I hear rain beginning to pour from outside and I groan loudly. After a short while, I hear thunder through the air and I gasp, sitting up straight with frightened eyes.

"No, not thunder." I whisper and open my curtains, to my dismay seeing lightening strike in the distance.

I pull my duvet over my head and hide underneath, even though it isn't exactly protecting me.

I sit for around another hour, scared underneath my blanket until I hear something hit my window. I frown and flightendly stand up, walking slowly towards it.

I take a deep breath and with one hand, draw back the curtain, screaming when I see Wonwoo standing on a tree in my garden, right next to my window.

I quickly open it and he climbs inside, soaking wet and cold.

"What are you doing?" I ask as he takes off his soaked jacket. "Why are you here?"

"I knew you'd be scared." He breathes.

"Oh, Woowoo..." I sigh. "Let me get you some towels."

I fetch some towels from my bathroom and hand them to him. I search my wardrobe for something for him to wear, and when I find one of Mingyu's old shirts I hand it to him. I open my drawers and find a pair of Dino's jogging bottoms, throwing them to him also.

"Here, you can change in the bathroom." I tell him and he nods, shaking because of the coldness.

He walks out of the bathroom in new, dry clothes and I sigh.

"I can't believe you did that."

"Hey, you should be thanking me. If I wasn't here, you'd be sitting scared and alone."

"But Woowoo, you're freezing."

"I don't care." He shrugs and I pull him towards my bed and order him to sit down.

"Here." I say and pull my duvet over his shoulders to warm him up.

"Thanks, Areum..."

"You really are crazy, Woowoo," I laugh softly, "But I love you really."

Author's note:

Sorry this was boring I will speed up the story in the next chapter don't worry.

Also, Areum was saying she loved Wonwoo in a friendly way, she doesn't romantically love him don't worry

poor Dino :(

By the way, I'm not misspelling Wonwoo when I refer to him as Woowoo sometimes, it's a nickname Areum made for him :)
