-Alyssa Moore-
"Alyssa, it's time to get up, hon." Mom called out as she knocked on my bedroom door.
"Why? What time is it?" I muttered.
"It's 6 in the morning, and it's your first day of school." Mom said and entered my room, starting to open my curtains.
"Oh. I forgot about that. Am I driving or are you?" I said as I got up out of bed.
"I have things to do around the house. Would you mind driving yourself?" Mom replied.
"I don't mind. You take care of yourself, okay mama?" I said and got dressed real quick before grabbing my backpack.
"You too, baby girl." She said and kissed my head before handing the car keys to me.
I smiled a bit and took care of my hair before going out the door and to the car.
I drove to the school and found a parking spot, then went inside to get my schedule and locker combination.
"Alright, Miss Moore. Here is your schedule and your locker combination. Welcome to Davidson Day High." The principal said as he handed a couple of papers to me. I smiled as I took the papers and went to my locker, then put a few things in it.
-later, in the last class-
"Hey, you." Someone whispered as they tapped me on the shoulder.
"Hm?" I said as I turned to face the girl. She was a preppy- looking blonde girl, and she was very pretty.
"You're that new girl, right?" The girl said quietly.
"Yeah, that's me." I replied.
"Girls, please be quiet." The teacher said.
"You're very pretty, and you seem quite energetic. You got moves?" She said, completely ignoring the teacher's orders.
"Moves..?" I asked quietly.
"Never mind, just.. Would you mind trying out for the squad?" She asked.
"Squad?" I said.
"The cheer squad. We weren't originally going to have tryouts today, but we do need another girl, and you'd be perfect." She said with a smile.
"Girls! Don't make me ask again!" The teacher said angrily.
"Uh.. I guess I could try out. When?" I said and she smiled even more.
"After school, which, by the way, is very soon. Meet me in the gym. We can't meet on the field because the football team has practice." She said. "By the way, I'm Terra."
"Okay. Nice to meet you, Terra. I'm Alyssa." I said.
Soon, the bell rang, and school let out. I followed Terra to the gym, and she showed me a few moves then asked me to do the same. I did as she said, and all the cheerleaders agreed that I should be on the squad.
"You did so great today. Tomorrow after school is when we're having practice, and it will be on the field. Also, you should have your uniform by Wednesday." Terra informed me.
"I can get a uniform that soon? Wednesday is just two days from now." I said and she smiled.
"My mom basically works magic. If we're lucky, you might even have it by tomorrow." She said.
"Well, okay. I'll see you tomorrow, then." I said and waved to her before walking away.
When I got to the car, I got in and drove home.
"Hey, mom." I said as I went inside and shut the door behind me.
"Wow, you're home late.. It's 4:50 pm. Is everything okay?" Mom said as she put a plate of food in front of me after I sat at the table. "Oh goodness, you're all sweaty too."
"No worries, mom. I stayed at school a little longer because I tried out for the cheer squad." I said before putting a bite of spaghetti in my mouth.
"Oh, really?" Mom asked with a huge smile.
"Really. Oh, and I made it on the squad." I said and mom put down her fork before practically attacking me with a hug.
"I'm so proud of you, sweetie!" Mom said and I laughed softly.
"That's great. Mom, I love you and all, but I'm hot and sweaty, I'm exhausted, and I'm trying to eat. We can hug after dinner." I said and she let go of me before sitting back down.
