"Please let me go with you guys" I begged my dad to let me go with him on a run.

"Carl no it's dangerous" Dad said

"Dad I'll be fine just let me come"
I begged more.

"Fine" He said then walked away.

I fist pumped the air then ran towards the car. We were driving to town since there's this huge department store.

We were outside the store. We being Dad,Daryl,Maggie and Glenn and me. Daryl tapped the glass checking for walkers. None. We walked in.

"Okay everybody spilt up" Dad said.

I went down the canned food aisle. I heard footsteps on the other side. I shook it off. I saw a can of those ravioli things. I went to grab it when my hand met somebody else's. I snatched it from the hand.

"Hey asshole that's ours" a girl's voice said.

I looked through the aisle and saw a girl. She rolled her eyes at me and continued down the aisle. I ran around the corner to the aisle she was on. I don't know what I'm gonna say to her but I'm gonna talk to her. I rounded the corner and just as I was about to stop I ran into the girl. Our faces were inches apart.

"Hey asshole" she said backing up.

"H-hi" I said.

She was about my height. She has brown hair and eyes. She also had a bow an arrow on her back. I looked down and saw a little boy holding her hand. He looked about 4 or 5.

"How may we help you" she said pulling the little boy behind her.

"Here I want you to keep this" I said handing her the can.

"Thanks" she said kind of unsure.

I was about to say something when Maggie and Glenn ran up to me.

"Carl we're about to leave" Glenn said.

"Who's this?" Maggie asked looking at the girl and boy.

"I'm Evelyn this is my brother Sammy" the girl spoke up.

The little boy hugged his sister's legs. She pushed him forward.

"We were just leaving don't worry" the girl said turning around.

"No wait" Maggie said.

The girl turned around giving us a confused look.

"Where are your parents?" Glenn asked.

Evelyn looked at her brother and sighed.

"We're orphans" she said.

I saw Maggie look at Glenn as if they were reading each other's minds. Then Maggie spoke up.

"Why don't you come with us?"

Evelyn looked at her feet then her brother. She was probably thinking about it. Then she bent down to her brothers ear and whispered something. He nodded then spoke up.

"Yes will come" he said with a baby voice.

"Well then come on" I said smiling at Evelyn. She smiled back the. Lifted her brother into her hip.

We got out front. My dad and Daryl walked over. Dad eyed Evelyn.

"Who are they?" He asked.

"This is Evelyn and Sammy I thought they'd stay with us" Maggie said.

My dad looked pissed. He hates the idea of bringing new people into the group.

"Come on Rick there just kids" Glenn said.

Rick looked at the two. Evelyn hugging her brother. He walked over to them.

"How many walkers have you killed?" My dad asked.

"Too many" she said.

"How many people and why" he asked again.

"You ask a lot of questions and 5 because they were cannibals" she said.

"Fine they can come" Dad said

I looked at Evelyn who smiled then kissed her brothers cheek.

"Nice to meet ya I'm Daryl" Daryl said.

"Evelyn" she said.

"I'm Rick" Dad said shaking her hand.

"I'm Maggie this is Glenn" Maggie said going in for a hug.

Evelyn looked shocked but attempted to hug back. It was mostly Maggie hugging her since Evelyn was holding Sammy.

"I'm Carl" I said smiling at her.

She winked at me then got in the car Glenn and Maggie brought.

We got to the Jail. Michonne greeted us once we got out of the car. Evelyn walked over to me. I looked at Maggie who was holding Sammy.

"He likes her" Evelyn said looking at Sammy. I smiled at her then Michonne walked over.

"Hey Carl" she said smiling then looked at Evelyn.

"I'm Evelyn" Evelyn said.

"Michonne" she said looking at Evelyn and me.

"Carl why don't you show Evelyn her and Sammy's cell" Dad yelled over to me.

I nodded. We started walking away when Michonne grabbed my arm.

"You think she's hot?" She asked.

"What?" I said blushing.

I mean I can't disagree she is. She's hot but beautiful too. Are those the same I don't know.

"You do" Michonne said then walked away.

I jogged up to Evelyn who was talking to Maggie.

"Sams you wanna come with me or you wanna stay with Maggie?" Evelyn asked.

"Can I stay with Maggie? She's weally pweety" Sammy said attempting to whisper.

Everyone laughed. Evelyn smiled.

"Okay see you later bud" she said then kissed his forehead.

"Bye sissy" Sammy said waving to his sister.

"Okay let's go" Evelyn said fixing her backpack.

We walked through the prison. Many people saying Hi to me and introducing themselves to Evelyn. Evelyn and I exchanged stupid jokes making each other laugh.

"Here's your cell" I said opening it up.

"Thank you" she said.

"Mine is two cells away if you need anything" I said awkwardly.

"You want to hang out after I unpack? I mean I need friends other than my brother" She said giggling at the end.

"Sure" I said smiling then walking to my cell.

Finally, Sammy and I found a group. I mean we were doing fine on our own. It gets lonely. Sammy and I need some friends our age. Sammy is pretty mature I guess I mean for a 4 year old. There are a bunch of kids that age here. There's actually a lot of people here. It seems like a mini village. I'm kinda glad Carl took the ravioli because if he didn't we would have never met anybody. I gotta admit Carl is pretty hot. He's also really sweet and funny. I can't say I like him just yet. We just met but maybe I will.

A/N: first chapter is up! I'm really excited for this. Btw it's most likely gonna be Carl's POV the most. Also I'm gonna try and follow the s4 storyline and forward. Hope you guys like the book
