I sat in my room reading a comic book.
"Which one is that?" I heard a familiar voice.
I looked up and saw Evelyn. She smiled at me.
"It's the one with all the avengers" I said showing her the cover.
"Oh" she said nodding.
"You wanna meet someone?" I asked.
"Sure" she said.
We walked to Beth's cell. I knocked on the cell door to get Beth's attention. Her head shot up.
"Oh hey Carl and your the new girl right?" She said.
"Ya I'm Evelyn and I have a little brother but he's with Maggie" Evelyn said smiling at Beth.
"I'm Beth nice to meet you" she said.
"Same here" Evelyn said.
I walked over to Beth taking Judith from her.
"Evelyn this is my sister Judith" I said.
"Oh my gosh she's beautiful" Evelyn said smiling at Judith.
"You wanna hold her?" I asked.
"Sure" she said.
I handed Judith to Evelyn. Evelyn held her and gently swung her side to side.
"Your so good with her" Beth said.
"Ya usually she cries when someone other than me,Beth,or My dad hold her" I said.
"Well aren't you a handful" Evelyn said to Judith.
Suddenly,Maggie and Sammy showed up.
"There you are sissy" Sammy said looking at Evelyn.
"Who's that?" Sammy asked pointing to Judith.
"This is Carl's Sissy Judith" Evelyn said.
"C-Can I say hi to her" Sammy asked me.
"Sure" I said taking Judith from Evelyn and kneeling to Sammy's level.
"Wow she has pretty eyes" Sammy said with a giggle.
Judith started laughing at Sammy and mumbling.
"Hehe hi Baby" Sammy said giggling more.
"Evelyn Carl there's food made go eat" Maggie said.
"Did Sammy eat" Evelyn asked.
"Ya" She said.
Evelyn nodded. Then looked at me with a smile.
"Okay and Sams why don't you leave the baby alone now" Evelyn said.
"No it's okay he can play with her" Beth said.
"Okay I'll be back after I eat because you little boy need sleep" Evelyn said tapping Sammy's nose.
"Sissy not in front of Maggie" Sammy said attempting to whisper again.
We all laughed. Then Evelyn and I walked out.
"Um Carl if you don't mind me asking what happened to your mom?" She asked.
I looked down at my shoes. I hate telling people this. I hate the Pity. But I told her anyways.
"Oh I'm sorry I'm sure she was a great person" she said.
"She was" I said.
It got quiet for a while when Evelyn spoke up.
"Bet you that Sammy is gonna lecture me for embarrassing him" she said with a laugh.
"He lectures you?" I asked.
"For a 4 year old he's pretty smart" Evelyn said laughing.
We started talking about Pre-apocalypse. She's really cool. She told me about the pranks she pulled on the other kids.
"Everyone probably hated me" she said laughing.
"You don't care that they did?" I asked.
Most people care a lot about that kind of stuff.
"I don't give two fucks about that all the people there were jerks." She said.
"Feisty" I said.
She laughed. We got down to the eating area.
"Hey Carol" I said holding a plate.
"Hi carol" she said putting food on my plate.
"I'm Evelyn I think you saw my brother Sammy" Evelyn said to Carol.
"Oh ya you guys look alike" Carol said.
"Ya think so? I don't see it" Evelyn said scrunching her nose.
Carol just smiled at her and put the food in her plate.
"Where we gonna sit?" She asked.
I was about to say something when I heard Patrick call to us.
"Hey Carl come sit over here" he yelled.
We walked over to him. He was sitting against the wall looking towards the garden.
"Hey Patrick" I said.
"Hey Carl" Patrick said
"And hello Hot stuff" Patrick said flirting with Evelyn.
I don't know why but this pissed me off. I looked at Evelyn waiting to hear what she would say.
"Hello fuckwad" she said then sat next to me. We all laughed.
"Rude" Patrick said.
We all hung out till it got dark and we had to go in. Evelyn and I walked to Beth's cell. Sammy was passed out next to Judith.
"Come on buddy" Evelyn whispered picking him up.
We walked out quietly.
"Goodnight Carl I'll see you tomorrow" Evelyn said.
"Goodnight" I said.

I hate to be the person who likes someone right away but I do I like Evelyn. I can't help it. I don't know what it is about her but she's different. She's not scared. She's Sassy and Funny. I don't know she just gets me like I don't need to worry about what I say because she gets it. I think maybe it's because we are somewhat alike. Damn I miss her already.
