Forced Lies

Chapter 7

Jeremy's POV:

How... How could she do this to me? I... I thought she loved me... Cared about me....

I run to my room. I'm hurt. I need to throw something. To hurt something. Anything. I grab the nearest thing to me which is a pillow and start punching it, letting out all my anger on this one innocent pillow, tears streaming down my face. This is what you get Jeremy. This is what you get for trusting someone. Giving them your all. Nobody can ever love you completely. How could you be so stupid!? Throw the pillow across the room where it hits the picture of me and Sam on my dresser, sending it to the floor where it breaks. I fall to my knees, not able to stand. It is all just too much...

Aspen's POV:

"Yo-you didn-didn't te-tell me!" Said Jeremy, tears springing in his eyes.

"Y-you lied!" He threw my badge to the ground and ran inside the house, tears streaming down his face. No... No... Not Jeremy too.... I fall to the ground, crying. How can this be happening? First I loose my family and now Jeremy... I love him and now he hates me.

I felt Daniel come and stand by me. His hand ran up and down my back as he tried to sooth me.

"It's gonna be ok Aspen." he said, rubbing circles on my back.

"Don't you dare tell me everything will be ok." I growl through tears. With all the strength I can manage, I wave my arm, signaling everyone to lay down their weapons. Everyone puts their guns down. I run my hands through my hair, trying to breath normally but failing horribly. I take a deep breath and turn to address the rest of the crew.

"Dismissed. Go back to head quarter and continue the search for run aways #43 and #44. They are both injured so they can't be far." I say, motioning for them to leave. Everyone nods and climbs back into either a car or a helicopter and drives/flies off. I turn to address Jeremy's mother.

"I am sorry, but you do have to become an agent. Or I will have to kill you and I don't want to do that." I say, looking at her , trying to stay strong.

"I am sorry but i don't know what you are talking about." she says, looking bewildered.

"Sam and Maddie know we are agents and now we must kill them because they ran away." I reply.

"I have no idea where they are. Last I know is that they were at school. Why would they be here?" I sigh.

"Ma'am, we need you to cooperate and tell us where they are." I say, nudging Daniel. He comes and stands by me, nodding his head.

"I am sorry but I have no idea what you are talking about... We are just a normal family..." says Jeremy's mom, confused. I sigh.

"Aspen..." said Avis, warning me. I don't even look at her... I need to think this through. Daniel stepped forward, seeing I was a little freaked out right now.

"We know that miss but we can't necessarily trust you." he says, trying to get her to understand. Jeremy's mom just stood there in a little bit of shock.

Star's POV:

I was lounging on my couch, pigging out on Doritos and Skittles, watching TWD when I heard loud yelling and stuff outside. I pushed my food to the side and looked out the window to see helicopters flying off and wait... was that Aspen? And Daniel? And Avis? Wait what? I ran outside, pulling my jacket on. I run over to the Greenfield's front yard and go up to Aspen.

"What's going on?" I ask, confused. I walk over to Daniel hoping he would explain to me. He buried his face in his hands. I saw his shoulders rise and fall.wait... Is he... Crying? I run over to him, wrapping my arms around him. He pushes me away. I stumble backwards. What? I look over at Aspen who looks like she could break down and Avis who seems as stone as a statue. Then I see Mrs. greenfield and go over to her.

"What's going on?" I ask her. She looks at me grimly.

"These children keep saying that we must become secret government agent or something like that or we have to die. Which I don't see the point in. What did we do?" She says, addressing the last part to Avis, Aspen and Daniel. Avis sighs.

"Ma'am we have been through this. You did nothing. It was Maddie and Samuel. They know about us being agents and they must die." She says. Sam's mom laughs.

"So basically anyone who finds out you are agents has to die?" She says, a nasty edge in her voice. Avis nodded her head firmly. "Well it seems like you have to kill all of these innocent people." She says, gesturing around her. Sure enough all of the neighbors had come out, wondering what all the commotion was about. Sis groaned and rubbed her temples, trying to think.

"Ok, can you promise not to tell anyone anything?" Ashes aspen, looking at me and Mrs. greenfield. I nod, to stunned to speak. He lied to me... How could he...

"Yes, of coarse we can." Says Sam's mom. Daniel stands up, taking a deep breath and walks over to me, opening his arms. I back away.

"No." I say, holding my arms up like a shield. "Don't come near me." He looks at me confused.

"You lied to me," I whisper, tears threatening to spill. His face turns from confusion to sadness in a matter of seconds. I see a tear slip down his cheek. I want to go hug him. Comfort him. Tell him everything will be ok. Not to worry. But I can't because all this time he has been lying to me. Probably plotting to kill me.

"I'm so sorry Star..." He says, dropping his arms.

"You should be." I choke out before running to my house, tears streaming down my face.
