Forced Lies

Chapter 10

Jeremy's POV:

I kept texting Aspen for ten minutes but she never answered so I put my phone in my pocket and sighed as tears started to slip out of my eyes

Samuel looked at me and asked," why are they killing themselves?"

I shrugged and answered him while still crying," I don't know.." more tears slide down my cheeks," sh-she stopped answering..."

Maddie came over and hugged me

" so.." Samuel said trying to change the subject," why have you been leaving for no reason?"

" well.... its kind of complicated..." I replied and hugged Maddie back

Maddie asked," will you tell us?" she let go of me and looked at me

I nodded," I guess.." I said," I've been getting these weird text from a blocked number.."

Samuel nodded," what did they say?"

" Well.. they are kind of confusing, one of them said,' everything is about to change,' and another said,' be prepared,' and then another said,' use your talent...' and stuff like that.."

" what is your talent?" Maddie questioned..

I clenched my teeth, I didn't exactly like my talent.. it was kind of nerdy... but I had to tell them, Samuel was my brother and Maddie was my friend, so I took a deep breath and answered her question quietly ," I-I can bu-build stuff...."

Samuel scooted closer to me," what did you say?"

" I c-can bui-build stuff.." I said a bit louder

Maddie looked at me and smiled," you can build things? What have you built?"

I smiled that they didn't call me a geek or nerd or anything like that..." I've built Jetpacks.. trackers.. I stuck one on Aspen," I whispered the last part," I've been leaving to go build..."

I pulled out my phone and texted Aspen again

J: Aspen? You there? You alive? Oh, please tell me your alive

Samuel's POV:

I watched Jeremy pull out his phone and text someone again

" That's cool Jeremy that you can Build stuff,"  I smiled at him," but, we need to get Maddie to her mom..."

Maddie whimpered," please.."

Jeremy nodded agreeing

" I can drive you home if you want," I offered

Jeremy nodded again," and we need to explain to her-"

I finished his sentence,"-even if we get chased by a secret government for the rest of our lives..."

Maddie nodded and a tear slipped down her cheek as she said," yeah... my mom needs to know what happened,"

I nodded agreeing, we had to tell her mom no matter what...

" come on lets go!" I say standing up ignoring the pain in my leg when I did

Maddie smiled," okay."

Jeremy got up and I walked over to the metal stairs and started going up wishing the shooting pain in my leg would go away

When we got to the top I walked out of the guest bed room and into the hallway, across the hallway and down the stairs into the living room and then outside them following me the entire way. I walked outside and walked up to my car and unlocked it ad they all got in

Aspen's POV:

Aspen woke up on the cold ground she looked around and saw Daniel and Avis talking

" where am I?" I asked curiously, I thought I was supposed to be dead...

Daniel looked over at me and answered my question," some guy saved us.."

" anyways, we better get home.. we can't stay here forever!" Avis said

I nodded," your right," I stood up and started walking in a direction then stopped," uh-which way is home?"

Daniel and Avis both pointed the opposite way that I had been going

I turned around and started walking that way and they followed me

Samuel's POV:

" Sarah what's your address?" Samuel asked as he picked up his GPS

" 23245 Robin Dale court..." she replied, her voice was shaky

I nodded as I entered it in my GPS and put the keys in my car, I looked back at Jeremy and saw him typing furiously on his phone and then I looked back at the steering wheel and hit the gas pedal and pulled out into the street and started driving towards her house...

" So, if we get hunted what happens?..." I asked, it was a very stupid question, how would they know?

" then we get killed... I guess...." Maddie replied her voice a little shaky

Jeremy added," if they catch us we die pretty much!"

I sighed," thanks.... I really needed that,"

I parked in front of her house," were here!"

" You go with Maddie, I'll stay here" Jeremy told me

I nodded and climbed out of the car, I watched Maddie climb out and we walked up to her front door.....

Jeremy's POV:

I watched Samuel and Maddie climb out of the car and walk up to her house then I looked down at my phone and tried texting Aspen again... I waited five minutes and got no reply... I was really worried about her... I mean I was also mad that she hadn't told me she was a agent.. but, I was more worried then mad...

I remembered I put a tracker on Aspen that you could call it and if you pressed a button on the tracker it would work like a phone, so I called the tracker, and waited a couple minutes..

"Come on! Pick up already!" I said getting a bit worried, I tried calling her again and once again no answer.. I sighed

Samuel's POV:

I watched Maddie open the door and walk inside, I walked in slowly behind her

" Mom?" Maddie calls out, I stand beside Maddie and hear someone coming. Her mom, I thought.

A tall middle aged woman with straight brown hair, hazel eyes, and freckles on her face walks into the room and gasps," Oh My Gosh!" she runs over to Maddie," What happened? Why are you home so late? Why is your arm all wrapped up? and who is this?" she asks and gestures to me.

" I'm her friend.. and We'll explain..." I answered
