Chapter 7: Calls and Cluelessness

Vanessa's P.O.V

I was getting ready to go to the movies with my family when my phone started ringing. I picked it up and soon saw it was Rydel.

I answered quickly answered it after the 2nd ring and Rydel sounded like she had just won the lottery.

*On the phone*

Me: Hey Rydel! What's up! Sorry Laura had to leave early if that's why you called.

Rydel: Hey! No that isn't why I called. It is way more interesting than that! (She started squealing and I could tell she was jumping up and down even though I couldn't see her)

Me: Well spill it! It is about raura isn't it! Your dad really is good at naming couples... or at least 'hopefully soon to be' couples. (I knew it was about Ross and Laura. Rydel only squeals that way when something is about couples, Ratliff, or mac and cheese. Wait... nope... mac and cheese is Rocky. Anyway I knew it was about them because if it was about Ratliff she would text me, not call. And right now there is only one couple- I mean soon to be couple- in process. Well besides Rydellington of coarse! Her dad really is good at coming up with couple names.)

Rydel: Yeah! Duh! Of coarse its about them! I mean come on Vanessa! You and Laura know me better than anyone else- except my family and Ratliff. Did I mention the fact that he is sooo cute! Sorry, back to the topic! Anyway, you should know that I only squeal like this when things are about couples, that handsome prince I am going to marry in 10 years (I rolled my eyes at this part even though Rydel couldn't see me), or pancakes! Wait... no... pancakes are Ross. (There are so many Lynch's!)

Me: Ok, so spill!

Rydel: Ross and Laura KISSED!!!

Vanessa: (I started squealing and jumping up and down) OMG!!!!!

Rydel: I KNOW RIGHT!! And I have the whole recording on my computer! I planned the whole thing! Me, my siblings, and Ratliff were watching them the whole time! Maybe when they finally have their wedding that our moms have been planning we could show it to them. I mean, I know I have to wait like 12 years but I'm willing to take that chance.

Me: Totally! Make sure you send me the footage! I can't believe the finally kissed! I remember my first kiss...

Rydel: I know! I remember how excited you were when you finally told us about your first kiss the night it happened.

Me: Yep. Last year when I was 14. The sun was setting and there was a beautiful sunset and me and Jason were sitting on the blanket. Then we started to lean in and we kissed. It was magical. But too bad he had to move to New York causing us to break up. I guess not all relationships last forever. I just hope Ross and Laura's relationship does. Even though they aren't officially dating yet.

Rydel: Me too. And at least you had your first kiss. I'm almost 15 and I haven't had mine yet.

Me: Don't worry you will get yours soon (I hear someone walking in. It must be Laura.) Anyway g2g.

Rydel: k bye! And talk to Laura about you know what.

Me:Will do! Talk to you later.

*End of phone call*

I hung up and walked down the hall and into Laura's room. I saw her on her bed writing something in her diary. I knocked on the open door to let her know I was there.

She looked up from her diary.

"Come in", she said closing it and carefully putting it on her nightstand.She got up as I walked over to her couch to sit on it. She walked over to me and I assumed it was because she wanted to sit down next to me. She found her soccer ball laying on the floor and kicked it to the corner of her room and then she came over to where I was and sat down next to me.

If there is one thing Laura is good at-besides acting (she has been in a few plays, movies, shows,etc.), singing, etc.- it is soccer. She loves to play soccer and is actually really good at it.

Anyway back to the topic.

"So...", Laura said, obviously wanting me to tell her why I came in to talk to her.

"Well...", I took a breath and let everything out, saying it as fast as I could.

"I know what happened with you and Ross at the Lynch's house. Rydel called and told me that you guys kissed, and it was the cutest thing ever, and she planned the whole thing, and she was recording all of it, and her, Rocky, Riker, Ryland, and Ratliff were spying on you the whole time, and Rocky wants to marry mac and cheese one day", I blurt out. I don't know where that last part came from but it's true. He told me he would love to marry mac and cheese. Then I realized I told her that Rydel was recording the whole thing.

"Seriously?!", she said.

"I mean I knew they were watching and Rydel being Rydel would think it was the cutest thing ever but I didn't know Rocky wanted to marry mac and cheese! That is so funny!", she said.

Phew, she didn't notice the recording thing.

"Laura, Vanessa we're leaving in 20 so hurry up and get dressed", dad shouted from downstairs.

"I'm getting dressed", Laura said as she got up and walked to her closet.

"Fine but we still need to talk about the kiss", I said getting up to go to my room. She might want to stay quiet for now but she was going to have to accept it.

Weather she did it sooner or later. And I still have the girls night to talk to her about it. And there was no way I was canceling.

And I wasn't going to let her cancel either...

So.... what did you think? And BTW 'Jason' is a random character I made up just because I couldn't think of anyone. Sorry I updated so late. Also bad news... I can't do the double update. I am so so so so so so so sorry (was that enough so's). I just have a lot of drama to deal with. The thing is I have a school dance coming up and my mom said I could go if we could find me a ride but I don't have a ride so I probably won't be able to go (and if I do I am not going with a date just with friends). Also I accidentally spilled to her that people at my school date and my parents are way overprotective and my mom is thinking about changing schools because of that 'cause she thinks the other schools won't have dating and stuff. Like Seriously!! Anyway, hope you understand and I will TRY to get chapter 8 up tomorrow.
