Author's Note: Okay, before I begin this chapter, I would like to apologize big-time! I know I promised you guys another chapter last Friday, but I just got really busy (hugging celebrities, you know, the usual) and didn't have time to write. But here's the next update! I hope you enjoy, my loves😊

*Briella's POV*

When a jillion years had passed and school was finally over, I walked outside to the quad. I would've run, but I didn't want to seem too eager. So I shoved my excitement aside and walked at a normal pace.

The quad was this big oak tree with cement blocks around it. You could sit on it, and it was nice because there was shade.

Nick was already there. "I hope I'm not late," I said, and he looked up from his phone, startled.

Immediately, his face broke into a smile. "Not at all. I've only been here a few minutes."

"Good." I sat down beside him. "So...did you wanna...go somewhere, of just sit here?" I asked slowly.

"We can go somewhere if you want, but, I, uh, don't have a car."

"That's fine, neither do I. Fifteen, remember?"

"Right. Me too."

It was impossible to stop smiling. My face hurt.

"So, where do you want to go?" he asked.

"Um, we could just go for a walk."

"Okay. Yeah, sounds good." He stood up and a small part of me expected him to reach for my hand. But he didn't.

We headed off campus and started walking alongside each other on the sidewalk. I didn't know where we were going, but I followed his lead.

"So, tell me about yourself."

I blushed. "What do you want to know?"

"Anything you haven't told me already on Wattpad," he answered.

"Um, okay." I tried to think of something interesting to tell him. "I like the beach."

"Which ones have you been to?"

"Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, and a few in Florida, like Coco Beach and Pensacola. Have you ever been?"

"No. My dad doesn't like to travel."

"Oh. Well maybe when you're older." Ugh, why did I say that? I mentally kicked myself. What a stupid thing to say.

"Yeah, maybe," he said, laughing it off. "What's your favorite restaurant?"

"Taco Bell," I answered immediately. Then I felt embarrassed, cuz people didn't always classify TB as a "restaurant."

"Nice!" Nick exclaimed. "I love Taco Bell. Unfortunately, I never get to go."

"Well, it's right by my house. We could go, if you want."

"Okay, sounds good. Lead the way."

So I did.

*Nick's POV*

As Briella and I walked the streets, I couldn't help but admire everything about her. The way she walked, and talked-like she was nervous-and how she kept tucking her hair behind her ears. It was all so cute.

And then there was me, in my pink shirt that probably made me look gay. I don't know why I'd put it on that morning. When my parents were still married, Mom loved Dad in polo shirts. I guess I thought it'd look good on me, too. Now I wasn't so sure. Hopefully Briella wasn't mentally making fun of me.

I had to resist the urge to hold her hand. It would've been so easy, since we were just walking down the sidewalks alone. But I was way too nervous, and besides, we had only just met. It was probably too soon.

I definitely didn't want to freak her out.

So when we got to Taco Bell, I made sure not to order anything weird that would give me gas. I got the taco pizza, which was $8. I don't know why I was so hungry, but I was.

"I'll have the Meal Deal 4, no beans," Briella said to the cashier.

"Alright. Is that for here or to go?"

"For here," we said at the same time. I smiled at her.

"Okay, is that all?"

"Yup."

"Alright. Thanks, Briella," said the cashier.

Wait, Briella knew this girl? "You two know each other?" I asked as we walked around, trying to find a table. We ended up sitting at a high table in the back.

"Everyone here knows me, and my brother. We're regulars," she replies.

"Oh. Makes sense."

"Yeah, we come here a lot. And Ashton works here now." Seeing my confused expression, she adds, "Ashton's my brother. Sorry."

"Oh, okay." Why had I gotten jealous when she mentioned him? I should've known the two were related. Again, I reminded myself to calm down. This was only our first date.

And it wasn't even an official date, either. We were just talking. Two friends sharing a meal at Taco Bell. You couldn't get any more normal than that, right?

So why was I so nervous?
