Chapter 8

"Jake!" I smiled. "This is.. it's.." I was at lost for words.

"It's what?" he questioned, worry covered his face.

"It's beautiful!" I giggled. Relief washed over his face. I hugged him tight. I couldn't believe he had done this for me!

He had colorful lights decorating our trees and the flag pole. He laid a big picnic blanket out in the grass and a picnic basket on top. Candles were surrounding the backyard. Smaller candles were laid on a seperate part of the grass and they spelled out "I ♥ You!". I smiled.

"Jake, no one has ever done anything so special for me!" I cried. He shoved his hands in his front pockets.

"I'm glad you like it." he said. "But that's just the beginning...". There was more?!

He took my hand and lead me to the picnic blanket. We sat down and he grabbed the picnic basket, taking out it's contents. Picnics usually have sandwiches and sodas, right? Not this picnic. This picnic had sushi (like the packs you buy at the store), sodas, shrimp cocktail (also the packs from the store), and for dessert, a pint of cookie dough ice cream. All of these things are some of my favorite foods!

I looked up at him. ".. h-how did you know...?" I asked.

"I asked your mom for your favorite foods, and this is what she told me." he smiled.

"Jake, thank you so much." I said. I was so happy.

"Anything for you." he smiled. He pecked my lips. We started to eat the food, and it was amazing.

"So, Amanda, tell me more about yourself. " he told me.

"What do you wanna know?" I asked.

"Well, whats your favorite color?" he asked me.

"Easy. Turquoise. " I answered. "What about you?"

"Red." he answered, and took a bite of sushi. "Ok, next. What do you want to be when you grow up?" he asked.

"Umm... a singer." I answered. I took a shrimp and dipped it in the cocktail sauce. It was soo good.

"Nice. I want to be a professional skater. Like Tony Hawk." he grinned. I laughed.

"That would be so cool!" I smiled. "Ok Jake, what's your little sister's name?" I asked.

"Lilly. She's 8." he answered. "What about your siblings? How old are Chris and Aly?" he asked. He left Jacob out, knowing how much I don't like to talk about him, plus the fact that he already knows his age.

"Chris is 9, and Aly is 11." I answered.

"Cool, maybe they can all be friends." he said, and I laughed.

"Yeah, maybe.".

"Hey, Manda?" he asked.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Can you sing for me?" he asked. I grinned. I stood up and so did he. I grabbed his hand and led him inside. "Where are we going?" he asked.

"Here." I answered, and stopped at my piano in the living room. I sat down and he sat next to me. I started to play the song.

"When the rain is pouring in your face, and the whole world is on your case, I could offer you a warm embrace... to make you feel my love. When the evening shadows and the stars appear, and there is no one there to dry your tears, I could hold you for a million years, to make you feel my love. I know you haven't made your mind up yet. But I would never do you wrong. I known it from the moment that we met, no doubt in my mind where you belong. I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue. I'd go crawling down the avenue. No there's nothing that I wouldn't do, to make you feel my love." I sang. I played the piano part and smiled. I started to sing the next verse, and Jake joined me. "The storms are raging on the rolling sea, and on the highway of regret. The winds of change are blowing wild and free! You ain't seen nothing like me yet. I could make you happy, make your dreams come true. Nothing that I wouldn't do. Go to the ends of the earth for you... to make you feel my love. To make you feel my love. To make you feel my love." We finished.

"Jake!" I smiled. "You have an amazing voice!".

He grinned. "As do you." he said and kissed my forehead. "Come on, lets go finish our night.".

We walked outside and finished eating. He was truly amazing. When we finished, we lied down on the blanket and looked at the stars. Suddenly, a group of fireworks erupted in the air. I gasped. They spelled 'I love you' and 'I love Amanda' and heart shaped fireworks exploded everywhere.

"Jake!" I gasped. "How did you..."

"My brother Ben owns a firework company here in town." he smiled.

"Thank you so much Jake. I love you." I smiled.

"I love you too." he leaned in and kissed me. I smiled into the kiss. I must be the luckiest girl ever.
