Sarah and I got ready for the party. While she was putting my hair up, I told her I'd talk to Aysha.

"Good," she said. "Just don't have sex."

My eyes widened and she saw that in the mirror. She laughed, "I'm kidding."

I let out a nervous laugh. "I wouldn't anyway."

We finished getting ready and walked to Luke's house. I pulled my hoodie up. It began to rain. "Great," I said sarcastically.

"It isn't that bad," Sarah said. "It's supposed to thunder later and we're here."

We stopped in front of Luke's house. The party was already in full motion. "You ready?" she asked.

I nodded. I was going to talk to Aysha before we left. "Let's go," I said.

We walked in. "Hey guys!" Luke shouted over the music. "Want a drink?"

I looked at Sarah, remembering last time. I also wanted to be able to remember my conversation with Aysha."No thanks!" I yelled in reply.

I walked around a bit but I didn't see Aysha anywhere. I wandered outside to the pool and sat down at the edge. Luke came out and sat down next to me. "Want a brownie?" he offered.

"Sure," I said and took the brownie. I took a bite. It tasted weird but I kept eating.

"What's in it?" I asked.

"Oh, just a special ingredient," Luke responded, standing up.

For some reason, I thought it was funny. I started laughing. "I see it's working," he said.

"Really Luke?" I heard a voice behind me saying. "You gave her THOSE browines?"

I turned and saw Aysha leaning against Luke's glass door with an eyebrow raised. I laughed again. Luke chuckled. "She's enjoying it," he said.

She shook her head. "Come inside," she said to me.

I stood up but my legs felt weird, kind of like jelly. I managed to make it up to Aysha. She led me inside. "Are you okay?" she asked.

"Just fine," I laughed. Everything seemed funny.

She shook her head and led me to a bedroom. She sat me on the bed. "I guess he made them with good shit," she sighed.

"What good shit?" I asked.

"Weed," Aysha answered. "Marijuana? Special brownies?"

"Ohhh."

"Yeah. Are you able to have a full on conversation? Sarah said you wanted to talk?"

"Oh. Oh yeah." I completely forgot for a moment. Thank God for Sarah.

"Well?" Aysha asked.

"Well uh," I started, the brownie giving me courage. "I like you. Uh, like like you."

"Okay," she answered with a smile. "Anything else?"

"I'm gay," I blurted out.

"Thought so. Or I may've been worried my gaydar was off."

I didn't know what a gaydar was but I laughed anyway. It sounded funny. "I was wondering something," I asked timidly.

"Hm?"

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

There was silence for a moment as she thought it over. She brushed my hair out of my eyes and kissed me softly on the lips.

"Yes."
