I stared at myself in the mirror. I was all dressed in my preppy uniform; a white shirt, a short, blue tartan skirt, and a navy blue blazer with the logo E embroidered on my left breast. My hair was packed in a tight ponytail and I sported silver stud earrings. I had to pierce my ears the night before, it still hurt as hell. I was not wearing any makeup but I looked beautiful nonetheless. I always knew I was a natural beauty.

Call me vain, whatever.

I was going to some snotty private school. I didn't mind though, I'd rather be amongst people of that class. At least, they wouldn't be a total pain in my ass. It really wasn't my fault I was used to a certain standard, a standard I had come to love, minus all the formalities.

The Elite High School.

I grabbed what I presumed would be my school bag. It was actually quite stylish, Herschel, and red, my favorite color, with black polka dots. I left my room, my footsteps silent underneath the plush, black, Persian carpet. I went down the flight of stairs and meet Asher who was waiting- impatiently, if I might add.

"You said you would be done in five minutes!" He yelled.

He was all set to go, smartly dressed in his blue tartan trousers, white shirt, and blue blazer with the embroidered E. He wasn't wearing a tie, or anything around his neck for that matter and he left the first button of his shirt undone. His hair had that messy look to it.

I rolled my eyes at him, and turned to the pathway on the right which led out of the house. Once more, I looked at my face in the mirror hung on the wall, was it me or did my face look less pale and brighter? I shook the thought off and walked out through the black, mahogany doors.

There was a black Aston Martin Rapide S waiting, a chauffeur at his appropriate place by the door. I missed my Lambo like crazy but, that aside, truth be told, within me, I was totally freaking out. I still didn't understand this whole 'walking in daylight' thing and I was nervous about being around so many humans. Yes, I was ten times better than all the humans put together, but without my powers, I really wasn't sure.

"What are you waiting for?" Asher growled from inside the car.

Wow, when did he get in?

I raised my middle finger before going in the car. I hoped it would be a long drive, but it was not, of course. How could anything be as I wanted? The car went through large black metal gates which I assumed was the school's. We drove halfway through the O-shaped driveway and the car stopped right in front of the school doors. It had the look of a mansion, the surrounding grass was cut and trimmed to near perfection. Honestly, everything looked perfect, like something out of a book.

There was a woman waiting there. I groaned inwardly. She was in a black suit, her black skirt fitted from her waist right to her knees. Her black hair was cut in a short bob and it framed her oval face perfectly. She had white pearls around her neck and pearl earrings. Her white pumps took her from what I assumed to be about 5'5 or so to 5'9. The chauffeur was already about to open my door and all my senses were screaming at me to take the wheels and drive off but I couldn't. Carter's life was at risk, and I had to be a good hostage till I figured out what was happening to me or, till my parents found me. I stepped out of the car, the sun temporarily blinding me, why wouldn't the damn thing just hurt me. Asher stepped out quietly and quickly after me.
