"Oh shut it already!" I yelled into my pillow.

Someone had been ringing the doorbell for what felt like hours and wouldn't get the hint to disappear. I was sure we weren't expecting guests and if we were, why wouldn't Asher get it.

With a groan, I got off my bed, sliding my feet into comfortable pink fluffy slippers. I got down in about a minute, I knew I looked like hell but I didn't care. Someone was about to get vaporized by my death glare.

"What do you want?" I shot as I opened the door before my eyes registered who was standing before me.

"I was just about to leave, didn't seem like you were home." Nathan said.

"Well I am." I snapped.

"I see that." He said, eyeing me. I suddenly felt very aware of my rather short shorts and tank top. I crossed my arms over my chest.

"You haven't told me what you want." I replied, arching a brow.

"Invite me in at least?"

"Why should I?" I asked, doing my best to try to annoy him.

"I came to give you your purse. You left it at the party."

"I don't see it with you."

"That's because it's in my car."

"Fine, come in." I said, tired of standing by the doorway. "How'd you figure out where I stay?" I asked as we walked in towards the living room.

"School records. It's been a week since you've been in school and I volunteered to check up on you." He replied as he sat on the couch. "Nice place by the way."

"It's not mine." I said coldly, standing beside him. "I'm not even sure why I let you in right now."

"It's my charm," he said, smirking. "You can't resist it even if you try."

"Viola?" Asher's voice came from the stairs as he came down. "Who was by the door?" he asked.

"It's none of your business." I shouted out but he was already by the door leading to the living room. He had a towel around his waist, hanging perfectly low so my mind was free to wander. His abs looked oh so delicious.

Snap out of it Viola! I chided myself.

"Did he say Viola? I thought your name was Natalia." Nathan said, confusion evident in his eyes.

"It is."

"I never said Viola." Asher said, staring at Nathan like he had lost it.

"Oh, I must have heard wrong then. Did I interrupt something?" he asked, looking from Asher to me.

"Oh no. Heavens no." I replied, certain they could see how alarmed I was but Asher didn't even look fazed.

"What is he doing here?" Asher asked.

"None of your business," I replied. "Ignore him." I said to Nathan.

Nathan seemed uncomfortable but hid it well, which honestly scored him points with me. "I was actually wondering if you would like to go out sometime."

"Why would I want that?" I asked.

"No, absolutely not." Asher's voice interrupted again, annoying me.

"Forget I asked. I'm going to get ready. We can leave in a few minutes." I concluded and turned to leave.

"Wait, now?" he asked, surprised.

"Why not?" I replied then left, Asher behind me.

"There's no way I'm letting you leave." Asher said as we went up the spiral staircase.

"I feel like I have told you this severally already, its none of your business." I shot. "Do you expect me to stay locked up in here all day?"

"You're the one who said you didn't feel good enough to go back to the school."

"That place is just an extension of my prison. What's your problem with it anyway, he's human and I can't escape."

"That's not the problem." He said.

"Then what is it Asher?" I asked, exasperated. "You don't control me or own me. We are not friends. We're acquaintances with a common problem. I will not stay locked up in here all day and you not wanting me to go is enough reason for me to." I snapped and shut my bedroom door in his face.

In about twenty five minutes, I had had a bath and gotten ready. I got a bag of blood from my bedside table and downed it then took one of the pills Asher had brought to me. The pills mostly helped with the nausea and fatigue and they seemed to help my mood too. I stared at myself in the mirror in my walk in closet. I was wearing black high waist skinny jeans and a plain red crop top with black ballet flats. I looked at my flat stomach and belly button ring piercing, wondering how much time I had left before my next big whirlwind. I packed my hair up in a loose ponytail and went down to meet Nathan.

"You must really like crop tops," he said when he saw me. "And the color red."

"You must really like pointing out the obvious." I replied.

"In that case, I shall try my best to refrain from telling you, you look beautiful." He said, flashing me a lopsided smile.

I rolled my eyes. "Where are we going?"

"I'd say I have no idea but I think saying it's a surprise sounds way better." He replied, standing.

"I don't like surprises." I said.

"Too bad." He replied with a chuckle.

This was going to be one hell of a day.
