If there is one word I would use to describe myself it would be confident and I guess that is what many people hate about me, well particularly classmates and a lot of the 'cool kids' at University. But I guess we can't please everyone in life because even if we tried, the best we can get back is more negativity.
"So are you ready for University Catherine? Don't forget its casual day today, please don't wear your uniform." my mum says after knocking aggressively on my door.
I know its strange, but we are the only University that put a uniform policy. Students can only wear a white shirt and black pants (males) and black skirt (females) as it makes us look more equal apparently.
"Its a pointless day mum and as Student Council President, I will lead by example by wearing my uniform!" I yell
"Okay sweety, you can keep looking stupid every week if it helps you feel better." She responds before walking away.
I get into the back seat of my father's X5 looking at my older sister Samantha whose sitting next to me. She is wearing a dark blue strapless midi dress with a side slit up to her hip. If only she knew how much she drives me crazy. We have a very love hate relationship but I know no matter how hard I try nothing changes. Sometimes I just wish my parents would wake up and say "Samantha is adopted!" because we are from two completely different dimensions.
"Dressed like a student on casual day, well done." she finally says after a long awkward drive to University.
"Dressed like a whore on casual day, well done." I respond before getting out of the car.
Samantha is ashamed to be my sister and she tells everyone at University that her dad picks me up at the road side because my parents can't bring me. Well everyone except my best friend Stella of course, I tell her everything.
I head to math class, one of the most amazing classes I take in my foundation course. I notice how many people struggle, so I choose not to talk about it.
"Good morning class. Any facts of the day genius?" Mrs. Taylor says to me with her baby bump sticking out like she will have quadruplets.
"Good morning and no m'am. But I should say that as student council president, I will use it in my power to demolish this unnecessary and unneeded casual Friday. As you all can see, I will start with leading by example and hope you all follow." I say then sit down.
"Thank you for that unnecessary and unneeded speech Catherine. I will no longer be working here as today is my last day. You will have a new math teacher, Mr. Jake Foss who will be coming in tomorrow."she says while tearing up.
"You will deeply be missed Mrs.Taylor. Of course that is only if Mr. Foss is an old ugly retarded looking man then maybe just maybe your absence will leave a hole in our hearts." Alicia says and immediately everyone claps for her, how ridiculous.
"Maybe it would be more sensible and polite if you spoke for yourself because my opinion differs completely from what you just said." I say without turning to look at her.
"Good, then I spoke for everyone but you Cole." she responds
"Very funny, but you can call me by my first name. If it wasn't obvious that's what they are there for Alicia."
"Don't tell me what to-" Alicia says interrupted by Mrs. Taylor.
"That is enough girls! Class dismissed, I need to pack up. Go read in the library or something." she says but I raise my hand.
"I already booked it Catherine." she says and I start packing my stuff, preparing to leave.
"I just wanted to say I will miss you and I hope that wherever you go, you will still be an amazing lecturer and I wish you goodness and the best of luck." I say
"Thank you Catherine, you will always be my genius, no matter where I go."She says then gives me a tight hug.
We all walk to the library and as usual everyone is in their cliques. I walk besides Stella my best friend as we form an amazing clique. I don't think it is because I don't belong to any clique, its practically because I choose not to fit in.
"I am going to miss her." Stella says
"Me too."I say
"Well obviously you should, she always favors and worships you so why wouldn't you. You're her genius, remember?"
"I get that from almost all my lecturers Stella, one class won't make a difference." I say
"That is so bitchy to say."Stella says
"I will catch you in the library, I have to use the bathroom." I say and walk away from the conversation.
"Catherine, there she is." I hear principle Martin say.
"Yes sir." I say turning behind and walking towards him.
He is standing next to a tall handsome looking man. I have never seen a man so sexy and gorgeous in my entire life. He has dark brown hair, tanned skin, perfect jaw line, dark blue eyes, freshly cut beard like I can see his muscles sticking out of his t-shirt partly. I mean he is too perfect and too hot to be standing next to principal Martin.
"This is our student council president and student representative for the foundation students Catherine, as you can see she stands out from everyone else." principal Martin says proudly.
I feel stupid and embarrassed now for wearing this stupid uniform that I just stand and smile awkwardly, feeling like a retard.
"This is Mr. Jake Foss, your new mathematics lecturer replacing Mrs. Taylor and I am just giving him a tour around the campus. He is so dedicated that he decided to come a day before work for a tour." Principal Martin says but I literally can't move. I just stand, smile and stare at how amazing he looks.
"Nice to meet you Catherine." he says with a smile as he extends his hand. I can feel sweat in my palms and my face burning up.
"Catherine are you okay?" Principal Martin asks, looking at me like I am some mental case.
"I-I-I-I." I say before walking away and into the bathroom because I have never been so shy and embarrassed in my life.
"Catherine how long does it take to use the toilet?" Stella asks as she walks into the bathroom while I stare at myself in the mirror.
"Principal Martin called me to greet the new maths lecturer." I say irritably.
"And... is he hot?"
"And I panicked, I just walked away Stella, I am so ashamed."
"Did you at least say something smart?" she asks
"Well, I said I."
"Are you sure you are okay Cath?"
"I don't know how I will survive in maths tomorrow Stella, I really don't."
"You better get yourself together, we have a chemistry test next class." She says then walks out.
