Calum was definitely breaking the speed limit at this point, he had to get to Dylan's house as quick as possible.
Calum remembered every moment they ever had together.
Every laugh, every smile, every kiss, every fight, and every heartbeat. Each heartbeat, pulsing like frantic humming birds trapped inside a cage.
He was so focused on Dylan, that he forgot about driving.
The car swerved, and Calum maneuvered his way back into the right lane.
Five more minutes until he would see Dylan.

Calum rushed up the walkway that led to Dylan's house, It was still lined with some potted plants, that had been hastily taken care of.
Dylan wasn't careful like Luke, but Calum didn't care. He never would. Because love is a powerful thing, and Dylan's imperfection made up for Luke's perfection.
Calum thought Luke was perfect, and he would probably never know that Luke had put up a facade. Calum also didn't know that his best friend had put up a mask of his own.
He knocked on Dylan's door three times, their personal knock that they had created in their eleventh year at school.
Calum heard Dylan's footsteps stumbling towards the door. He opened up the door and said, "Are you insane?"
Calum didn't know how to respond, so he just stoop up on his tiptoes, and kissed his one true love.
Dylan pulled away after a good minute, "Please explain. Please Calum." His voice sounded broken, just wanting an answer.
Calum explained everything, and Dylan listened. Dylan believed Calum wholeheartedly because love makes even the tallest of tales seem true. Calum's story was extraordinary, yet every word was not a lie.
Calum took a deep breath and declared, "I love you. I want you for worse or for better. You are everything to me, and Luke couldn't compare. Nobody could compare." He got down on one knee, "So Dylan, will you marry me?"
Dylan nodded through his tears.
The happy couple rejoiced, and didn't even think about the two boys. One was just miles away from them, the other on a deserted island. But, those two boys were very similar. They both had facades, and the masks were crumbling fast.
