The clear blue water rushed against Luke's freezing feet. It felt so hard to breathe. The sea was just as cold as his heart, the fleshy organ that was pumping blood and hurt.
Gods above, it hurt so bad. His balance wavered and he collapsed into the the calm surf. The crystal waves lap upon his legs, nipping them, feeling horrible despite their pretty appearance.
Luke screamed, cursing the gods for this. This was the worst part of his punishment. It always was. The part where they left.
Somehow, this time it felt different.
It felt way worse. It felt like something important has left and then stabbed him hundreds of times in the back, then left him out to dry.
Michael.
Luke was so in love with him, and he acted on his feelings too late.
Luke choked on a sob in the icy waves. "It was just a kiss." He tried to except the fact that Michael would never come back, "Just a kiss."

The waves were a darker blue here, Michael thought to himself as he ran his hands through the water. He preferred the water on Luke's island. He liked that blue better. It was lighter, it matched Luke's eyes.
Oh god, Luke. Michael wondered if he could turn this raft around and go straight back to the person he opened up to. He never opened up to anyone. Luke was the rare exception.
Michael tilted his head to the sky as he floated on the raft to Australia. "I will get back to you Luke. I swear on my life."
This wasn't just a kiss.
