The next morning I woke up and got ready for work.

One of the only things I love about the company I work for is that they let you wear whatever you want. The excuse is that we are "artist" and that means we get inspiration from everything and that includes clothing.

I ended up wearing navy blue skinny jeans paired up with black combat boots, a white t-shirt with a cool design on it and on top my black leather jacket. Since it was a bit sunny I decided to use my gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses and to finish the look a hat.

I ate breakfast in a dash, grabbed my car keys, my bag and left.

It's been more than four hours since I've started work and I'm not nearly halfway done!

"UGGG!" I'm done with this!" I said while throwing my pencil on the table.

"Hey chill out a bit Alva, you've been working nonstop since you walked through the door." Said Jane my desk neighbor, and my only friend in the whole building.

"Yeah. I know but I don't want to have things piling up on me"

"Hey, our lunch break is in an hour, do you wanna grab a bite to eat?"

"I think I'm going to skip lunch, I really want to get this all done today."

"Fine, I'll just go with Dane"

Dane is Janes finance (another wedding I'll have to attend to, sadly) they have been going out for four years now, which is truly surprising since Jane is quite intolerant of people.

"I hope you love birds have fun, but not to much fun." I said with a smirk on my face.

"No promises" she responded.

After a while, Jane left along with another group of people that had their lunch break at the same time. Leaving the whole tenth floor just for me.

"Finally some peace and quiet!" I muttered to my self.

Ring ring

"I spoke too soon."

I picked up the phone that was at my desk to answer.

"Hello, Sara what's up?" I asked the receptionist.

"There's this smoking hot guy looking for you, do you want me to send him up?" She said in a hushed tone.

"How odd Ben never comes to visit me at work... Well, might as well hear what he wants from me." I thought.

"Yeah just send him up."

After that, I hung up and continue to work. A bit later I heard the bing of the elevator and then some footsteps coming closer. But I kept my head down since I was in deep concentration of what I was drawing.

"What do want Ben? I'm a bit busy at the moment." I said.

"I don't know what Ben wants, but I know that I want to go out to lunch with you"

When I heard his voice my head went straight up and right before me was Sterlyn.

"Can't this guy understand that I want nothing to do with him!" I screamed internally.

"People don't always get what they want." I replied coldly.

"And if I were to say, please?"

"I would still say no."

"So let me get this straight, it doesn't matter if I'm nice or not I'm still going to get the same answer?"
