Sterlyn's P.O.V:

I was stunned, I never in a million years would have thought she would ask me that... I could feel my face turning pink from embarrassment and nerves as to what/how to answer her.

"You know what it was a stupid question, I should have known better than to ask you. Just forget it, I'll be going now." Alva said as she grabbed the door handle once again and opened the door in the process.

As I heard her say that, only one thing came out of my stunned mouth:

"Wait!" she stopped (thank God!) "I'm sorry for not answering; you just left me stunned for a moment and no it was not a stupid question; you could never ask a stupid question, Alva..." Wow, I was not expecting to say that at all... I guess the worry of losing what felt like such an advancement today got my adrenaline running my thoughts instead of my brain for once. (Authors P.O.V: let's be honest here it was more his heart doing the talking)

"You know what I have an even better way of answering your question, come to family dinner with me tonight, there you can ask all the questions you like to my Dad himself." OH GOD, WHAT AM I SAYING? I have officially gone crazy.

Then something surprising happened... she turned her head and looked at me... but not her usually cold stare that seemed like the only one she would use on me... but a glistening bright green stare full of wonder... oh, how that stare could break any cold heart.

"You'd really let me do that?" she asked still looking at me that way, she could ask for the universe right I would still say the same answer just for that look...

"Yes" I said without a hesitation.

For a just a moment the side of her lip quirked up the slightest bit "Alright I'll go, but let me warn you that you've made a big mistake." With that said she jumped in her car and said to send her a text to know at what time to be ready and then she drove off...

I just stood frozen in my spot...

"Did she look at me like she used too?... Did she smirk at me? Was it a warm smirk? Did she just accept to something I offered?..." Those thoughts swam in my head for a while until I finally beamed of happiness.

*******************************

I was at home getting ready to go pick up Alva, the rest of the day I had just been ecstatic for tonight, I could barely get any work done at the office because of how excited I was. Honestly, I couldn't believe she had accepted; I don't even care if she asks my parents to see my most humiliating photos, I'm just glad to have her coming, it's something I always wished for in high school; I knew my parents would love her.

I had already informed them that Alva would be coming, they were completely shocked, to say the least, I had never brought a girl home before it was a first for us all. I had also sent Alva a text telling her that I would be picking her up at around 7:30 (I hope that was fine for her) and to just dress casually because it was a normal dinner at my parent's house.

Grabbing my jacket and keys I headed out the door and into my car and started driving off to pick up Alva. As I was driving I thought of today... ever since yesterday that I called her to tell her to come to Maxwell Corp I knew that I had to stop with the front I had been putting up until now... the only thing it was doing was pushing her away from me more and more... I could no longer be manhandling her nor could I be as pushy/rude as I was being; it wasn't fair to her, she deserves better and I want to be better for her. Alva of the past never liked that Sterlyn, the one I would be like with my "friends", she liked the guy that was failing biology, was careless/clueless free spirit and was annoying... she liked the real me.

That's why today I was just me. No more Sterlyn Maxwell the douche as she would probably call me, just Sterlyn being Sterlyn and hoping that that's better for her...

I soon arrived at her house, this time I didn't bring flowers... I had learned my lesson from the last time (I had to take a warm shower after that bucket fell on me).

I went up the stairs to her door and after a few seconds of me building up my courage, I rang the doorbell and waited.

When it finally opened all I could think was:

"Wow, she's really always stunning..."
