We headed towards an elevator near Sterlyn's office, as we got in Sterlyn pressed the "R" button on the top row (R is for the roof) the ride up was pretty quick and I was happy about that, it meant chat I World finally get to know what he was up to. When the doors opened I was immediately met with the blaring sun in my eyes.

"Here." Sterlyn said as he handed me a pair of aviators, I decided to not let my ego get in the way and accepted them with just a sour look on my face.

Once the sunglasses were on I could see that there was a helicopter landing platform on the roof and in the center of it was a very stylish black helicopter parked.

"I hope you're not scared of heights..." He said looking down at me with a somewhat of a worried face. It felt kinda good to see that he actually cared about my fears.

"Lucky for you I'm not." I replied.

The look of worry vanished from his face and in return came a smile.

With that said we headed over and got into the flying vessel, both strapping on our seat-belts and putting on our headsets. Before he could start to fly I asked him how long he had had his license. "For about 6 years now, don't worry Alva you're in good hands" he answered back looking me in the eyes with a warm gaze, it actually gave me some comfort. With that said we took off.

It had always been a big dream of mine to ride in a helicopter one day, that's probably the one reason I didn't complain or say no to this "little" stunt , and I guess that I could finally check it off my mental bucket-list now.

As we ascended I could actually see the beautiful forest all around the building and as I looked up I saw the amazing deep blue sky with fluffy white clouds. In the distance you could see mountains and a small lake.

"Stunning" was the only thing I could say.

Sterlyn peaked over at Alva and in a low and inaudible whisper, only for his ears to hear,  said: "You truly are..."

As the ride continued, Sterlyn started to tell me about how the market need this new tourist  model of helicopter since it could provide a smoother and safer ride for people with families and about how that had been his number one goal in making this new design and also how this was the first big project his Dad was allowing him to venture all on his own, you could clearly tell from a mile away how he wanted to make his dad proud.

"I guess that what most people want to do for their parents... I stopped trying that ages ago, realized it's impossible for me to achieve that. " Alva thought darkly to herself.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed we had started to turn around, to head back to the company, I was surprised that I actually felt a bit disappointed that the mini adventure was coming to an end. I was having... fun... with Sterlyn; because for once he seemed genuine and the whole day had felt completely different from all our other encounters, yes he had been somewhat cocky from time to time and a bit annoying but that's in his nature; what really surprised me is that he seemed more caring and empathetic towards me, as if he really did care for me... maybe he had changed, maybe I was wrong about him, maybe I should give him a chance...

"WHOA! Hold up, Alva! This is Sterlyn we're talking about! Once a douche always a douche." I nagged myself internally.

Giving someone a second chance is not by any means simple nor easy. You are putting more trust in that person than did before so that they don't screw up. It could be a hit or miss... if it's a hit then everything is wonderful and marvelous; but what happens if it's a miss? How hard is it to recover from something a second time? It's even hard if you didn't recover fully from it the first time...

All these thoughts passed through Alva's head while they were heading back.

She looked over to Sterlyn; he was concentrated on flying the helicopter so he didn't notice her obvious stare, could she really trust him again? Would she allow herself to take that risk and possibly end up even more heartbroken that the first time?

What the hell would she do?
