Chapter 16:

I woke up the next morning at around 8 am, I got ready and ate my breakfast in about an hour and then I head towards Sterlyn's company, it was about an hour's drive from my house and well it kinda makes sense for his company to be a bit far since they handle pretty big mechanized.

Once I got there I saw in big bold letter "Maxwell Corps" on the wall of the building; now I understood why they wanted to change the logo, it was pretty bland and basic. A security guy let me pass the entry gate and also told me where I should park, I followed his instructions and once I was parked I saw that Sterlyn was waiting for me in front of a huge garage gate, that was probably meant for the arrival of different plain and helicopter parts.

As I was walking over to him I saw that he was in a business suit with a pair of aviators on and while I do hate the guy I can't deny that he did not look hot as hell, but I still kept on my poker face, there was no need for him to get full of himself.

"I'm glad you came." He said with a big smile, one that I would fall head over heels for when I was younger but now just gave me headaches and a weird fluttering in my stomach that I didn't understand why.

"It's not like I had a choice." I stated quite coldly. His smile dropped a little after I said that, but he left a smirk on his face.

"Well, you've already seen the logo up front know it's time to give you a tour around while I handle a couple of things as we do so." With that said he stuck his elbow for me to lock my own with it. I quirked one eyebrow up and said: "Just show me around like a normal person."

After that was said he showed me around the garage we were in, telling about the parts that were being shipped in and what they had to do with them. He then proceeds to guide me through the building process plant where they actually join all the parts together, Sterlyn said hello to each and every one of the workers and gave them a bright warm smile and by the looks of it this would be something he would always do because no one seemed put off by it, so I came to the assumption that he didn't just act this nice to his workers just because I was there.

Later on we went to the office area; here we were stopped multiple times by a lot of people because they need Sterlyn's approval on different things, usually they didn't take long but one employee apparently came with a bigger problem that actually needed more of his time.

"Tina, could you come for just a moment." Sterlyn called for one of the P.A's on that floor.

"Yes sir, with what can I help you with?" she said while batting her eyelashes at him; although he seemed pretty oblivious about it.

"Could you get Ms. Jackson a cup of coffee and a sandwich of her choice from the breakroom and then lead her to my office while I take care of this issue with Steven."

"Will do sir." She said with hearts practically in her eyes.

He then turned to me and said: "This shouldn't take too long, please make yourself at home and when I'm done I'll show the new project I need you to design for."

I just nodded, deciding not to make a remark on how I could just wait in my car, and then followed Tina leaving him to fix whatever the issue was.

After getting my coffee and sandwich for the breakroom Tine guided me upstairs to Sterlyn's office.

"Mr. Maxwell never takes anybody to his office other than his father; he even only talks to his clients in the conference room. Are you by any means his girlfriend?" She asked not even caring that it was a personal question.

Practically rolling my eyes I answered: "No, I'm just the designer for the new logo for the company." It truly doesn't matter where you go there will always be some type of gossip that people want to make up, but luckily this time there wasn't anything to chat about, nothing was happening between us.

"Oh well that's perfect, all the girls in the office will be happy to know that Mr. Maxwell is still single and available to the market, I mean have you seen that face?! He is to die for!" A bit of anger started to settle in my stomach after hearing her, but I decided to stay quiet and for my luck, we arrived at Sterlyn's office and Tina soon left.

Once I got in I admired the area, it wasn't huge but it was a bit more than average size office. It had a great view one side of the office was made of glass that over looked out to a huge forest; apart from that it was painted with navy blue, gold, and white colors and was decorated with a big oak wood desk in the middle with a blue chair for receiving people and then a big brown leather swivel chair as the main chair. Behind that was a case that held basketball trophies and diplomas.

I sat in the blue chair and started to eat my lunch while I looked at the trophies; some of them were from high school while others were from University, the diplomas were from Sterlyn's business degree.

While I was looking over the case the door to the office opened: "Hey Son did you get the chance to call... you're not my son..." said Mr. Joseph Maxwell.

Turning around I saw him, he was the exact image of Sterlyn only older obviously, but to be the main boss he didn't seem too stern, he actually had warm and caring blue eyes, like a father, should have.

"I am most certainly not." I said with a small laugh. "I'm the designer for the new logo and product line, the name is Alva Jackson." I said while shaking his hand and giving him a smile.

"Nice to meet you, Alva...wait did you say, Alva Jackson? Didn't you use to tutor Sterlyn back in high school? He would talk so much about you! I was always stumped because I never got to meet you."

I was stunned by his words. Did Sterlyn really talk about me? I always thought that he didn't give a care about me after our tutoring sessions and that after the whole douchbags incident he just completely forgot about me. Well, the last part was already proven wrong since he hasn't left me alone ever since Farrah's rehearsal dinner...so maybe I was wrong about other things as well...

Just when I was about to ask Joseph a question Sterlyn came in.

"Well, the problem has been resolved... Oh hi, Dad. What's up?"

"Not much; I just came to ask if you had called Production Company for more materials and then I ran into Alva here." Mr. Maxwell answered.

"Yeah, I called them as soon as I got in today. And how good that you guys met I was hoping you would." He smiled at me after saying that.

"Well Dad I would love to keep talking to you but I kinda have to show Alva the new product line that we have. But I will still head over to have dinner with you and Mom tonight."

"Okay Son, I'll see you later then. And Alva it was a pleasure to finally meet you I hope we can talk again soon." With that said Mr. Maxwell gave Sterlyn a hug and Alva a bright smile and left the office.

"Well, are you ready to see the new product line?"

"Yeah, I guess you should show me the product." I said with my usual uncaring tone.

"Show? No, no you are going to experience it." He said with his signature smirk.

Experience? What the hell was he up to?
