Like always, I'm the first one to complete the paper, and just like always, I give it one last thorough inspection before handing it over to Mrs. Robinson and walking out of the exam hall, where I wait for  Jose and Kate. There was simply no point in wasting time sitting in a hall full of nervous energy or being the recipient of more than a few sly glances. I knew how the grapevine worked here, and was

hyper-aware of the fact that the seniors were bound to talk about Mr. Lincoln's sudden change of heart. I also had zero interest in being the butt of their jokes about being a teacher's pet and all that jazz.

"You think you're so smart", jeers a voice behind me, snapping me out of my reverie. I couldn't say I was surprised. But the little chihuahua had completed the paper a little earlier than I had surmised which was a bit disheartening. The monkey squad was nothing if not predictable.

"I do. And unlike you, I firmly believe that I've a right to think so. How was the paper, Elliot", I jibe and throw in a contemptuous  smile while I'm at it. Elliot does, what Elliot does best. He fixes me with the most perverted leering glance that he could muster before mimicking "How was the paper! So the little Ms goody two shoes went off running to Mr. Lincoln, how pathetically predictable".

"Wanna know what makes you pathetic? Your constant attempts to come across as a conniving hyena when all you are in reality, is an afraid little mouse, the suckling one at that. You know, the kind that is used to cultivate the Coxsackie virus. Of course you don't know. Rest assured I'd be expecting another 'surprise' during our bio exam. And that's what makes you predictable. Now scurry along, will you".

I could see the lines of an angry scowl working their way towards his face, through his desperate attempts at feigning indifference. I could see, but I didn't bother dwelling on it. I had the guy pegged word for word, he was exactly like the creature I'd just described though the mice worldwide may take offense.

"It's not my fault you don't have a life, that's probably why you can come up with such absurd trivia".

"Just like it's not my fault that you have poop for brains in the overhead compartments, that's why you have to come up with such absurd schemes to clear your high school exams. There's a whole new big bad world out there waiting for you after school, Elliot, I hope you know that. I'd chat up a storm, but I'm kinda getting late for some major exam-ass kicking. Unless you want me to kick yours", I taunt, finally putting an end to the fruitless time-wasting conversation.

"No, he does not. Come back Elliot, I told you to leave her alone", announces the devil incarcerate from across the hall, the leader of the 'Grey gang'.

Okay, so this was the last teaser chapter and it all depends on your responses now. I may come across as a little desperate, but bear with me, desperate times call for desperate measures. I know I've kept the length of the chapters a little shorter than is norm, but then again, it depends on how well the story is received.

Do not hesitate to vote and comment and tell me how you like the story so far. I can promise you a roller coaster ride and hope you'll be joining me for it.

I will not, I repeat, I will not update this story any further if I do not get any comments and responses. I'm sorry in advance if that turns out to be the case.

Hope you like it :)
