I entered my house at 1pm, I was holding McDonald's bags since I stopped by McDonald's and bought lunch for Jason and I.

He said that he couldn't cook and I don't feel like eating pizza for lunch.

I put the bags on the kitchen counter then walked to the living room, Jason was sitting on the couch with a textbook in his lap and a pen between his lips. He seemed really focused that he didn't even notice my presence. I cleared my throat and he turned around to look at me.

"Hi," He said with a small smile on his lips.

"Hey," I replied. "I got us lunch from McDonald's."

"Oh, you didn't have to. We could have just ordered pizza like usual."

"It became lame and boring to eat pizza everyday for lunch and dinner."

"Oh and I got you the lessons that you missed." I handed him the papers that were in my bag.

"Thank you, Faye."

There was something weird, I wasn't feeling comfortable. I couldn't figure out why but I knew that I was feeling very uncomfortable. I felt so shy suddenly because I was out of words, there was no subject that I could bring up so we find something to talk about.

I was standing in my place twisting my fingers and deep in thoughts that I, myself wasn't able of absorbing or understanding. I was dwelling in the messy thoughts that were in my head that I wasn't able of taking them one by one and understand them.

"Faye ?" Jason's deep voice pulled me out of my thoughts. I looked up and he was facing me right now, I realized that I was still standing in my place twisting my fingers and my head was down.

"You okay ?" Jason asked.

"Um.. Yeah." I answered.

"You sure ? Because you seemed really lost. Did something happen ? Do you want to talk about it ? You can tell me anything and I'll help you out if there's something wrong."

My heart melted.
My brain melted.
My body melted.
I melted.

The heck is wrong with me.

His words got me, that's what I always wanted. That's what I wanted to hear out my whole life, the same way he said it. The same tone. He looked interested.

"No.. There's nothing wrong really." I assured him and pursed my lips in a small smile. "Shall we have lunch ? I'm starving." I said then turned on my heels and walked to the kitchen. I grabbed the boxes that were in the box and emptied the contents in plates. Jason entered the kitchen minutes later just as I was opening the bottle of soda.

We ate lunch silently, actually he ate because I didn't. I took some bites but I kept on playing with my food for the rest of the time.
I felt his eyes on me but I didn't look up from my plate. It went just like that.

My phone rang when I was sitting on the couch with Jason watching a random TV show. I picked up when Ethan's name flashed on the screen.

"Faye ?" I heard his voice on the other line the moment I picked up.

"Ethan." I said.

"I think you forgot about our science assignment. It should be ready before next week in case you forgot." He said and I hit my forehead with my palm when I heard his words.

"I totally forgot Ethan, you should have told me when we were in uni." I said.

"It's okay we can do it tomorrow afternoon." He said. "Because I won't be in town during the weekend." He added.
