Ford stepped forward, the spotlamp casted distorted, jagged shadows across his face. My eyes flickered rapidly between him and Soos, who oozed out the way.
Ford put a hand out - or paw - which was covered in thick, downy auburn fur and had five long, hooked talons protruding from the ends of his fingers.
"G-Grunkle Ford?" I uttered timidly.
"Dipper..."
He pulled down his hood to reveal a pair of lion ears on the side of his head and a face that gracefully stretched into a stumpy muzzle.
"Oh hi Mr Pines!" Soos yawped, waving one slimy arm through the air.
Stanford abruptly ignored Soos and approached me. I panicked and backed into the corner against a large object covered in an old muslin sheet. As I trotted backwards, one of my back hooves slipped on the cloth, tripping me up but also allowing the cloth to tumble to the ground.
"Dipper!"
A chirpy voice rang out from behind me. I turned to see a large glass sphere filled with water and inside was a girl with long chestnut hair and a large coral coloured tail that arced elegantly round her. Mabel.
Mabel swam up to the glass, nearest to where I had fallen, and placed her webbed fingers up against the surface.
"Hey brobro!" She exclaimed excitedly, clearly happy to see me.
"Mabel! I-I..." I trailed off.
Ford suddenly scared the living daylights out of me by placing a paw on my shoulder.
"Hi Grunkle Ford!" Mabel bubbled.
"Yes, yes hello Mabel!" He laughed in response.
I tensed up underneath the pressure of his paw.
"Dipper," He said with bated breath, "I'm sorry this happened to you."
"B-but..." I stopped. I couldn't think of any witty or clever comebacks.

((20 MINUTES LATER))
My hooves ached like hell. I was hooked up to some machine and was told to remain silent. I hated this.
"And...done!" Ford smiled, revealing a set of sharp fangs.
"Finally!" I sighed with relief.
Ford studied the data from his machine as I unravelled myself from the tangle of cables that were connected to my body. He look confused. I trotted up to look myself.
And I couldn't believe what I saw.
