Baby No. 2

"Are you serious Syd? You're really pregnant?" He asked. "Yes Adam. I found out this morning." I said. "I can't believe it. Are we ready for another baby?" He asked. "Well it's too late now Adam." I said. "I'm not saying that this shouldn't have happened. I'm just saying, are we ready to handle 2 kids? Because with the band's schedule and The Voice, I don't want to leave you alone everyday to take care of 2 kids." He said. "I think we're ready Adam. We did a wonderful job raising Emily." I said. He kissed the top of my head. "Alright, bring on baby number 2!" He said.

It was 5 months later. Adam and I were taking Emily with us to my doctor appointment today, where we would find out the gender of our baby. "Are you excited Emmy?" Adam asked her as we drove to the doctor's office. "Yes!" She exclaimed. "Do you want a brother or a sister?" I asked her. "Sister!" She said.  Adam and I both laughed at her excitement. We pulled into the office parking lot 10 minutes later. Adam helped me out of the car, took Emily out of her car seat, and carried her in. "Hello, what is your.." The receptionist stopped mid-sentence. "Oh my gosh. You're Adam Levine!" She shouted. "Yes, and my wife Sydney has an ultrasound appointment today." He said. "Alright, you can head into room 2." She said as she pointed to a room down the hall. I walked down the hall with Adam and Emily. "Hi Sydney," said my O.B.G.Y.N. Dr. Marshall. "Hi, Dr. Marshall," I said. "You know the drill," She said as I laid down on the table. 

"Alright so here is your baby," She said as she pulled up the ultrasound. "Did you two want to find out the sex of the baby today?" She asked. "Yes please," I said. "Alright well, you're having a baby girl." She said. "Oh my gosh," Adam and I said at the same time. "Look Emmy, it's your baby sister." Adam said as he pointed at the monitor. "Pretty!" Emily said. 

Once we got the pictures of the ultrasound, we got in the car and headed home. "So are you excited?" Adam asked as he grabbed my hand. "Yes, I'm so excited! What about you?" I asked him. "I can't wait for her to get here." He said. "Have you picked out a name? I know you love picking out names." Adam said. "Maybee...." I said. "Alright, tell me, what's gonna be her name." He said. "Adalyn Faith." I said. "Oh that's beautiful. Where do you come up with these amazing names?" Adam asked. All of a sudden, I heard a loud screech and glass breaking.

I woke up in a hospital bed.

"Syd, baby, wake up!" I heard Adam shouting as my eyes fluttered open. I looked up. I saw Adam's face that was streaked with tears. "Oh thank god you're awake!" He said as he hugged me. I looked around. I had about 3 ivs connected to me and my head was pounding. "What happened?" I asked him. "Some idiot ran a red light and crashed into your side of the car." Adam said. Right after he said that, a doctor walked in. "Glad to see you're awake Sydney." He said as he wrote something on my chart. "How is Emily?" Adam asked. "Oh my gosh! Where is she? How is she!?" I shouted, only making my head hurt more. The doctor stared at us in silence. After a couple minutes, he finally spoke.
