When Ryder was done helping you get your bags to your room, you two kind of just stranded there awkwardly not saying anything and making awkward eye contact.
"Can I, help you with anything else?" Ryder asked with a somewhat hopeful smile
"No, I think I can take it from here. But thanks for the offer, I'm sure I'll be needing it some other time when I need help." You said with a reassuring nod
"Okay, see you at dinner then" he said with a crooked smile
And with that he turned on his heels and walked out the room.
You opened one of your smaller suitcases and started to unpack it, you had to have everything put in the right places.
By the time it was time for dinner you had unpacked 4 of your suitcases, and your two smaller bags.
You headed down for dinner and saw everyone sitting at the table except you and Ryder. So, you sat in an empty seat and waited for Joe to put food down on the table.
As Joe was putting the plates on the table you heard a bang coming from the stairs, Ryder nearly fell off the bottom step but caught himself. He looked at everyone with an embarrassed tomato red face and dusted off his shirt.
He sat in the seat next to Mel and gave you a small smile.
"Heyy" he said dragging the end of his word a little
"Hi" you reply
You looked to Lennox who had a strange look on her face, you made a 'what' face at her and she kept slightly tilting her head toward Ryder and winking. You shook your head and decided to put it to the side.
Small talk was made as you all ate your dinner.
"Woah, this is really good Joe" you said to your uncle
"Thanks it's my secret Italian recipe, only the best for my niece" he gave a wink
"Wow, I feel so special" you laughed and rolled your eyes playfully
Dinner was over and you had offered to do the dishes, which Joe had absolutely no problem with. So you stood at the sink washing dish after dish until there weren't any left. When you turned around Ryder was standing at the island.
"Geez! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" You say holding onto your chest
"Sorry" he stated rubbing the back of his neck
"Hey I wanted to ask you something" he says nervousness clear on his face
"I'm all ears" you reply with a warming smile
"I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies tomorrow?"
You tensed up, but soon gave an answer
"Uh, yeah that sounds cool"
So, the next day you guys went on your movie date and it went great. You guys did all the couple goal things. And he asked you on a second date, a third, a fourth. And on to the point where he didn't have to ask you.
On the third date he asked you to be his girlfriend.
