Chapter 15

Natalia's pov

"Ow, ow" Calum said as I helped him into the chair in the doctors office.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Brown" a balding man said as he walked in the room "now what seems to be the problem?"

"He tried to pet a Joey and it attacked him" I answered for Calum.

"Joeys are very dangerous when startled" the doctor reminded Calum.

"I'm fully aware now" Calum scoffed making me nudge his shoulder.

"He thinks he broke his rib and the nails dug into his skin on his arms" I said.

"Uh it also hit me in the balls" Calum commented "just saying"

The doctor ignored Calum's comment and lifted up his shirt to examine his rib.

"We'll get you down to X Ray, there is already significant bruising" he said "you need to change into this, I'll be back in a few minutes"

The doctor handed me a white hospital gown before exiting the room.

"Here" I said handing it to Calum then facing the other way.

I heard a string of curse words out together as Calum tried to put on the gown.

"Do you need help?" I asked still facing the other way.

"Yes please" he sighed as I faced Calum to see him struggling to get his left arm and head out of the shirt holes.

"Here" I said giggling at his struggle, I lifted his shirt over his head and arms and tossed it on the counter.

"Might need help taking my pants too babe" Calum said cheekily sending me a dimpled smirk.

"In your dreams Hood" I rolled my eyes.

"I'm serious Natalia!" He whined as he unbuttoned his pants "And I got to see you naked last night the least I could do for you is strip me of my pants"

"Oh my gosh" I blushed "can we not talk about that"

"Why not? It was hot" Calum chuckled as I grabbed the ankles of his jeans and pulled them off his legs.

I glared at him as the doctor walked back in the room and I tied the gown on the back of his neck.

"If you'll follow me to the radiation room" the doctor said as I helped Calum walk by supporting his waist.

Calum got situated to get his x rays taken as I felt my phone ring in my back pocket.

"Hello?" I asked once I was in the hallway.

"Natalia?" Luke's voice flooded through the speaker.

"Yeah?" I asked

"Where did you and Calum go?" He asked sounding worried "I've tried calling Calum like ten times and he didn't answer"

"It's kind of a long story, we went to my house to get my clothes and Calum tried to pet a Joey and it attacked him and he's getting x rays now" I tried to explain as simply as possible.

"Is he ok?" He asked "are you ok?"

"I'm fine but Calum thinks he broke a rib" I said.

"Oh man" Luke said.

"Yeah, I'll see you back at the house Luke, I think Calum's almost done"

"Bye Natalia" he said "and thanks for taking care of my best friend"

"No problem" I said before I hung up and walked back in the room.

Once back in the doctors room I saw Calum laying on the table and the doctor looking at his x rays.

"Who was that?" Calum asked.

"Luke" I answered sitting on one of the chairs.

"What? Are you guys like back together or something?" He asked sounding irritated.

"No, we were never together and he was asking where we went" I informed him.

"Oh" was all he said as the doctor cleared his throat making us turn our attention to him.

"The good news is that Calum does not have a broken rib, it's just has a hairline fracture so there will be severe bruising but should fade in a month or so, if not you can come back for a check up" he said "I recommend ibuprofen and icing your rib"

"That's it?" Calum asked

"That's it, I'm sure your girlfriend here will take care of you" the doctor smirked.

"I'm not-" I started to say.

"Thanks, and I'm sure she will" Calum smirked at me as we walked out of the room.

"Why didn't you tell him we weren't dating?" I asked once we were in the parking lot.

"I don't know" Calum said "you just need to learn to go with the flow more Natalia, it makes life so much more simple"
