✖️ Martin's POV ✖️
Rain was coming down harder as thunder shook the windows and lightning covered my face as I solemnly stared out of it. News reporters were forecasting strong storms, I over heard the shop lady say to Rainn as she translated what they were saying from Spanish into English.
My clothes were soaking wet and my hair was hanging just above my eyes as I turned my attention back to Rainn as she spoke softly to the piete lady who had a concerned look on her face. Rainn was trying to communicate with her using hand movements and talking low, signs that she was getting frustrated with her.
"How long is this going to last?" I heard her ask as the lady jumped when thunder shook the windows and the ground furiously.
"Not long. Will pass soon," She said in her thick Spanish accent. "Stay for awhile and wait out here." The lady walked over behind her desk to grab candles and a couple of flashlights then disappeared into the back room.
I heard Rainn huff out a breath of air and slump her back as she went over to a chair with a hairdryer attacked to it on the back and sit down. She looked up at me and I turned my eyes away like I was looking at the painting next to her on the wall.
"Can-can I say something," She started as I looked back at her. "And you promise you'll give me a straight answer?" I nodded my head slowly, thinking about what she would want to say.
"I want to say something too. After you're done." I said sitting up in the pedicure seat and wiping my hair away from my eyes.
"That was not very... appropriate of me to act that way. I shouldn't have screamed at you like that or attacked you with such harsh words," Rainn said sighing. "I'm sorry."
This caught me by surprise. Rainn has never apologized for anything, that I know of. Looking over at Rainn, I saw that she had her hands twisted in her lap and her eyes cast downward at her feet that were scuffing the floor where they dangled.
This, seeing her in this state, gives me a feeling in my stomach. Something that makes me feel in control and able to use her like a puppet on strings. I have felt this before. Rainn, in this mood that she's in, will not resist to aid me or help me. I could use her to my advantage.
"It felt like you were trying to hurt me," I said acting like I was broken by her words. "I-I really didn't like it. I thought friends don't do that kind of stuff to each other?" Rainn looked up at me and gave me a look like she was about to cry.
"Martin, I don't want you to be hurt. I'm sorry, really. I just want you to be happy. I promise, sincerely, that I'll never act out like that again." Rainn explained as she stood up and brushed her hair away from her face.
I got up as well and went over to hug her, but the lights flickered and the tv gave out a static sound from the speakers. The shop lady came rushing through between Rainn and me to the windows to look out them.
"Not good, no good," She whispered under her breath. "Worse. Must stay in back where safer." She told us as we looked out the windows with concern. The old lady walked by us and grabbed our wrists, making sure we were following.
The back was a storage closet with boxes labeled in Spanish that took up three quarters of the room. Rainn went to sit on a box, but the lady slapped her thigh and she stood back up. I looked out the doorway to the front room that was now half covered in darkness as the windows were being pelted by rain and the clouds covering everything.
"Be back." The lady said walking out of the room and leaving Rainn and me alone again. She gave me a smile and I smiled back at her and gave a playful wink as she came to stand next to me.
"Friends don't fight. And we never will."

I will be busy again, but at least I got another chapter in! Hope it is good!
Enjoy!
