Chapter One
I glanced around the small diner making sure everything was perfectly cleaned up. It was way past my regular shift, but I had been asked to clean up and decided to stay at the bar to finish watching the Giants game. After a successful victory and some drinks, I decided it would be best if I walked home. I fumbled with the tie on my apron, finally removing it from around my hips. My phone began to vibrate in my pocket and as I glanced at the time, I realized it was 3:30 in the morning. Shit. I thought to myself. “Hello?” I quickly brought the phone to my ear. “Logan where are you?” My mother’s voice asked. “Cindy asked me to close up so I decided to stay and watch the game.” I stated. “Well, you know Thanksgiving is tomorrow and your family is in town so you better get home before I tell your father.” She informed me. “Mom, I’m twenty-one. I can do what I want.” I added a small chuckle at the end, trying not to be harsh. “Well, Logan, when you’re in my house you follow my rules.” She said with a click of the phone. I rolled my eyes even though she couldn’t see me. I flicked off the lights, locking the door shut behind me. I turned around, distracted by my mother’s annoying call when I collided with someone. “Ow! Watch where you’re going!” The voice snapped. “Sorry.” I mumbled. “Wait you ran into me, this isn’t my fault.” I said. The girl scoffed and for the first time I had realized I didn’t get a clear look at who she was. “Don’t you know who I am?” She asked cockily. “Yeah. You’re Lauren Jauregui.” I said unimpressed. Even though she was in one of the world’s largest girl groups, I wasn’t really fazed by her presence. Stars walked around New York all the time so why was she any different? “You can apologize any time now.” She broke me from my trance. I rolled my eyes, walking away from her; brushing her shoulder as I did so. I turned around giving her a slight wave, no longer in the mood to banter. “Have a good rest of your night.” I added. She yelled after me, “It’s morning!” I turned around and walked back towards her, astonished that she was acting this way. “You’re a bitch.” I mumbled. “Excuse me?” She said, shock written on her face. I leaned in closer to her, my face inches from hers. “I said you’re a bitch. Do you need me to spell it out for you?” I snapped. She pushed me away with her small hands. “You’re a douche.” She said, turning to walk away from me. I watched her hips swing a little dramatically as her butt swayed. “Like I said, have a good night!” I added sarcastically, a small smile forming on my face. Without turning around she threw her hand up in the air and flicked me off. I stumbled home, not looking forward to the confrontation I was sure to get from my mom when I walked in.
~Lauren~
I walked quickly, anger running throughout my whole body. What a douche! How could a guy treat a girl like me that way? He clearly didn’t realize who I really was. I am Lauren Jauregui. Hot. Sexy. Beautiful. Alluring. Lauren Jauregui. And I wasn’t the only one who thought of myself that way; magazines, ex-boyfriends, and friends always gave me compliments like that. I had to admit though, as rude as the boy was, he was very attractive. The fact that he could fight back turned me on… a lot. I stopped walking and looked down at myself. My tight black dress clung tightly to my illustrious figure and my shoes made me about four inches taller than I actually was. My long black hair curled at the ends, just reaching my hip bones. I was too attractive and important to be concerned about what some stupid diner boy thought about me. Without a second thought, I knew I looked too hot not to go to another club tonight. I strutted down the dimly lit street to my favorite club; Style On Beat. The bodyguards checked me out as I walked right past the line, people calling my name as I made my way to the entrance. I put my arms in the doorway, turning to face the crowd of adoring fans. I blew a kiss and winked as I heard them scream, mostly guys, which was a plus. I giggled slightly before making my way into the crowded club. I sauntered towards the back, guys checking me out as I walked past. Now this, this was the life I was used to.
