This chapter is from Atlanta's POV to reveal certain things you wouldn't get from Cara's
'Oh and I haven't seen Arthur either. Do you think he meant what he said?' I said to Cara, wondering if he actually meant to be nice and not torture one of us.
'You doubt me? I'm shocked precious.' Arthur said in a mock offended voice.' We both turned in surprise as we hadn't seen him come. 'Well, anyway. You got a free lesson, yeah precious. Maybe we can spend some time getting to know each other.' He gracefully walked towards me and slithered his arm behind by back and landed his hand on my waist. 'Don't worry, I'll play nice.' He whispered into my ear as he started to walk, gently pushing me along. I turned around and waved to Cara with a slightly anxious smile.
He took me to 'thewe're' as we all called it. It was behind the school and out of the gates but none of the teachers actually knew about it. The den was a magnificent tree house behind the school that Arthur and his gang had made in the first few days of our first year. The house was in a tall strong oak with the branches, like arms, holding it up. Arthur had put iron bars on the trunk to make a ladder to make it up to the top. None of us had ever been anywhere near and, well, to say I wasn't nervous would be a lie. Arthur removed his hand from my waist and took my hand with it instead and ran towards the tree, startling me. He let me climb up first, hopefully not checking out my ass.
I hauled myself over the edge and up onto the platform. The detail on the front was amazing. All hand carved vines and leaves , impossible to see from the ground. Arthur pulled himself up as I was admiring the decorative woodwork.
'You like it? I did it myself. It took a while but it's nice eh?' Arthur said impressed with himself and wrapping his arm around my waist once more. He opened the door for me and I followed him in taking in the beauty of the place. The first thing I noticed, however, is that the Den was empty.
'Where is the rest of your gang?' I asked slightly worried. He turned his head to look at me and was someone new. He looked more relaxed and happy.
'I told them I had company and didn't want to be disturbed, I assumed you'd want privacy. And when I'm around them, I'm different. Especially Morgana. She controls me and around her I have to be someone I'm not. I have to obey her and look good in front of her friends. She's abusive and always violent, Father always preferred her to me. I was the second child, the disappointment of the family. Whatever I did was never good enough, not compared to Morgana.' He explained sadly and he left me and sat on the sofa on the far side of the room. 'I'm sorry, you probably didn't come here to listen to me moan about my god-awful life did you?'
'Don't worry about it, Its nice to know your different. And its a shame about Morgana, she seemed nice.' I assured him as I sat next to him, cuddling into his side subtly as I was cold. He turned to look at me and gave me a small smile, a real smile. 'So, um, Is this where you always hang out when your not in class?' I ask hoping to break the ice.
'Yeah, this is my haven. I hide here a lot. I have the only key to the place so I can lock everyone else out. I blast music here... I sleep here even to get away from Morgana. That's why its a bit of a mess sorry.' He said apologetically. 'You look cold, do you want me to get you a blanket, or a jumper? I only have my jumpers here but they should work'
'Oh, yeah please. Jumper please.' I instantly reply without thinking. Arthur gets up leaving a cold spot where I was huddled up but he quickly returns with a black hoodie. He chucks it in my direction and walks over to the Kitchen area and grabs a can of Coke. He looks at me, as if to say 'you want one?' and I nod. He walks over and allows me to cuddle in again once the hoodie is on me.
'So, why am I here? I mean, why me? I'm not special and you've never been around me before. Its not like we're close, if you get where I'm going.' Well done on messing that one up Lant! Yup, well done me!
'Oh, I see. Straight to the point. Well, honestly I've always had an eye on you. But since we started you have only had eyes for Dean. And I guess I was jealous, but I didn't want to ruin what you guys had. But now, it's different. You don't like him in that way any more and you need someone there. I can see what that did to you.' He turned to face me and held my hand in his. 'I'm here for you Atlanta. I know I'm not perfect and that I was or at least can be a bully. But that's not me! That I promise you. I love you and you mean the world to me.' He looked at me, waiting for a response, looking like he was gonna get punched in the face. What I did, was unexpected for him.
I kissed him.
My lips crashed into his and fit like a jigsaw. For a moment, I thought I did the wrong thing, until he joined the kiss. It was a passionate battle for dominance that I almost won. He parted my lips wit his warm tongue and explored his new territory and his conquered land. He growled and fought with me. Only when we could no longer breathe, did we stop. We gasped for breath but we were happy. He gave me a smile and cuddled into me and I cuddled into him.
'That was not expected. But I'm not complaining. I only ask one thing. Do that again, please.' He said regaining his breath.
'Oh, you want more?' I purred knowing I was in control. He looked at me pleading with me. 'Well, I'm sure I can help you there...'
*time skip*
'Arthur! Its lunch!!! I've missed Maths and English! I got to run!' I screech when I look at the time.
'Don't worry, that's 10 mins fast. And were they that important. Come on, I'll take you to lunch.' He said while escorting me to the door.
'Well thank you.' I leaned up and kissed his cheek. 'Let's go then.'
