Hello, this is Natalie’s story and it starts off right after Have We Met? (formerly known as I Just Haven’t Met You…Yet). I really have nothing to say about it right at this moment as it is currently 2:18 am MST. Sorry if I have posted this too soon and well, I haven’t posted on Definitely…possibly in four days!(Fail)

Happy Reading!

ONE

*Natalie*

“One more time, please auntie Cricket” Tristan begged for the third time tonight.

I sighed out loud because I know that I could not deny this child anything. I love my nephew to bits and he is definitely making it hard to resist him on his requests. Whenever he pulls off the “cute pout and big teal eyes” look, it almost looks like they are glistening with tears let’s him know that it‘s already a losing battle against the person he‘s actually trying to manipulate. Because they will cave in.

I actually think he practices on the look in front of the mirror because it is heartbreaking to think that someone will say no to him one day. I shook my head lightly thinking that his parents - my brother Nate and his wife Liz - probably go through this everyday and I only have a few times experiencing it because I always, always give in to what Tristan wants.

“Okay, this will be the last time because you are way past your bedtime little one.“ I said sternly looking him straight in the eyes.

He clapped his hands excitedly as his head bobbed up and down in agreement. I chuckled under my breath as I watch him settle down in his bed. I tucked him in for the third time tonight just to get him to relax and stay put. When I settled down on the side of the bed, I look at him with a cheeky smile waiting to hear what he has to say. Yeah, he knows that this has been a routine now for the last five days.

“I promise auntie Cricket that this will be the last time tonight.” he said in his small voice as he hugs his white Siberian tiger stuffed toy closer to him.

“Alright, which story would you like me to read?” I asked with a raised brow because I already know which one he will pick.

“Thank you! I love you auntie Cricket” he said after we made a silent communication with our eyes

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at my nephew. He reminds me of how Nate was when he was little even though he is older than me, he can manipulate our parents into almost anything that he wanted done. And for that, he was and still is my idol when it came to defying my parents.

“I love you too, munchkin” I said and kissed him to the forehead.

I read to Tristan for the third time tonight. Sadly enough, it is the same story of Aladdin and his adventures. I think he’s fascinated by the story of a street rat meeting a princess and falling in love with her and she in turn didn’t care what Aladdin’s background is. Plus, who doesn’t want to have a genie as a chum?

Halfway through the story, I peered over the book to find that Tristan had finally fallen asleep. I kissed him in the forehead, set the book back on the shelf, and shut off the lamp on his bedside table. This immediately shows off the thousands of glow in the dark stars and constellation that he has in this room.
