~~Emma~~Beep! Beep! Beep!
Never had that noise been so annoying.
Mondays. My least favorite day of the week.
"Come on, come on! Time to get up!"
"Five more minutes, Alfred!" I moaned, hiding my head under my pillow.
My nice, warm covers were torn off of me and someone knocked the pillow off my head.
"I'm not Alfred, and if I wait five more minutes to wake you up, you'll never get up!"
My head shot up, and I saw my roommate, Karolina, standing over me, holding my sheets and my pillow in her hand.
"Give them back, and you've got a deal," I promised.
Trusting me, Karolina handed over my white bed necessities.
Before she left, Karolina turned on my radio at full volume, since both of us knew full well that my body would fall asleep while I got ready. One of the "perks" of being a superhero by night and a college student by day.
Yup. That's right. I'm back in college.
With Willow gone, I had almost no idea what to do. With Bruce back, he quickly found out I had been fired. He gave me two options: working at Wayne Tech with him, or going back to college.
I chose college. I am more than willing to let Bruce and Richard do the science company stuff.
Besides, if I ever wanted to make my recently realized dream of a music school possible, I needed to know how to run it and teach it. When I'm excited, I tend to get ahead of myself, especially in this scenario since Bruce and Shayera weren't there to keep me grounded at the time I was coming up with all this. So now I was attending The Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
Karolina was my Spanish punk-goth roommate that had, coincidentally, also gone to Gotham Academy with me. She was nice, but different. We were friends, but we certainly weren't as close as Willow and I were.
I texted Willow every day, and every day I got a "Number Not Found" notification from my phone service.
I missed her.
So. Much.
I got dressed in a long-sleeved Little Mermaid shirt, skinny jeans, and black knee-high boots.
"Got your guitar?" I asked Karolina.
She nodded "Got your sheet music?"
I held up the folder as proof, then double-checked to make sure the papers were in there.
"Good, because I'm dying for a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks and my car is in the shop, so you're driving."
I smirked as Karolina shouldered her black bookbag covered in Green Day and My Chemical Romance fan buttons and walked out the door to our dorm. I shoved my folder in my orchid purple messenger bag, grabbed the keys to my maserati, and followed after her.
We got to Starbucks, and we each got our usuals. A Pumpkin Spice Latte and a raspberry jelly donut, and a French Vanilla Hot Chocolate with a cinnamon roll.
We made certain to finish our breakfast in the maserati and toss our trash before getting out.
"Well, well, there you are!"
"Nice to see you too, Aaron." Karolina quipped to the bossy, self-centered fourth-year who was chosen to be in charge of the studio this semester. Only Fate knew how I was going to put up with him.
