I hardly got any sleep that night.

Thoughts and fears swirled through my mind like a tornado, a hurricane, and a whirlpool all in one, and some of them weren't even mine. I felt anxious, like I was trapped in the middle of the whole thing, with no escape.

There was Wally, running around and around the chrysalis. He screamed, and then he disappeared.

My insides felt like they were on fire.

I felt like I was drowning.

I saw myself attacking my friends, and no matter how I tried, I couldn't stop.

I felt myself falling again and again, and my wings wouldn't respond, wouldn't lift me up.

I saw a truck tipped over in a lagoon, the driver clearly crushed to death.

I saw a building explode, accompanied by a maniac's laughter.

That same demonic laughter hit me again and again, I could even taste the blood in my mouth

I saw them, my...demons...floating in the edge of the darkness, taunting to me. I cried out for them to help me, but they just stood there, laughing at me.

It was so confusing, so overwhelming, and that's probably what woke me up.

Mara had climbed into my bed sometime in the night, and the pillow was still wet from where she'd cried. I stroked the top of her head, combing her hair back into place.

Standing up and looking around the room, I felt the inside of my cheek, with my tongue and tasted blood. Must have been from the dream.

The team had made it to New Genesis safe and sound, but it was extremely late by then. Dreamer and Vykin had already made accommodations for us on New Genesis, where we'd be operating out of until Wally was safe and sound again, boom-tubing back and forth between New Genesis and Apokalips. We could have done it from Earth, but New Genesis was closer, it had more skilled warriors (no offense, Bruce), and it had even more advanced technology.

We split up between two rooms; guys in one, girls in the other. I looked around the girls room. The younger girls were sharing a couple queen-sized beds, and the rest of us got our own, smaller beds.

Aside from me, almost everyone seemed to be asleep, and I couldn't hear any noise from the boy's dorm next door. The spot on the bed Mara had taken with Rachel, Terra, and Tammy was empty, but so was Tammy's spot.

A gentle breeze blew through the room, replenishing the nectar-perfume scent. Gauzy curtains on the other side of the room danced on the breeze, high enough that I could see that the door to the balcony connecting both rooms was ajar.

The sun was just beginning to come up, a soft rainbow chasing away the dark blue, and Tammy was watching it all.

"You okay?"

Tammy shrugged, letting me know that it was definitely something to be chalant about. "Not really."

"Nightmares?" I asked, joining her on the balcony railing.

She nodded, blue-tipped hair swaying back and forth.

"Me too." I told her, elbowing her gently.

Tammy tucked her hair behind her ear. "It's not very clear. It was really messed up."

"Mine too."

Tammy fixed her eyes on the tiny sun, just barely above the horizon thousands of miles away.
