I finally got caught up with homework, so I have a bit of a break to write this chapter for you.
Dedicated to all the Spitfire shippers out there: this is the ending you all deserved :)

New Genesis.
~~Emma~~It wasn't the worst headache I'd ever had.
"Hey shocker."
To be honest, that wasn't the worst wake-up call, either.
It was blurry at first, but I blinked my eyes and a certain green-eyed, red-headed older brother came into focus.
"Oh gosh just let me go back and die on Apokalips." I moaned suddenly, grabbing the thin sheets tucked under my arms and pulling them up over my head.
"Hey, hey, hey," Wally whispered, grabbing my hand. "It's okay." He smiled at me in a sad sort of way that made me want to think that it was not okay.
"I nearly killed you, Wally." I whispered, holding the sheets just under my eyes.
"No, no you didn't." He shook his head.
"Wally, you didn't have a heartbeat for almost a minute." I insisted.
"Because my heart was beating to fast for you to register. I'm a speedster. It happens. Plus, Darkseid and Zoom upped my powers." Wally insisted right back, sounding awfully more convinced than I did.
My brow furrowed, and I dared to sit up, dropping the covers. "How?"
He held up his hand. Before my eyes, it became a blur. "I can vibrate now."
I looked between his face and his hand for a second.
"No bloody nose?"
"No bloody nose."
Sitting up, I got a closer look at his face. His eyes, especially.
"Are those..." I made a circular motion at his face with my pointer finger.
"Willow's spare pair of goggles." He confirmed, pulling them off. "Never thought I'd find myself dependent on what everyone else calls 'magic'." He said distastefully, rubbing the lenses with the thumb of his gloves. He was still wearing his Reverse Flash costume.
I looked down at my hands, clasped in my lap on top of the crisp, white sheets in the New Genesis hospital.
Strong, loving arms wrapped around me, pulling me close to something warm and secure.
"Emma. You're my little sister, and I missed you so much." Wally pulled back, gently. "Now, I made Kaldur and Rick get out of here because I needed to ask you something. Something I trusted you with about two years ago."
I knew what it was immediately. It was already burning a hole in my back pocket, so I quickly pulled it out before it could set anything on fire.
"You asked me if I had your back then. If you'll let me," I kicked the covers off and stood up, "I've got your back now."
Wally grinned, putting his arms around my shoulders. "There's no one I'd rather have there."
"What about Rick?" I asked, handing it to him.
"Eh, your twin would prank me while my back was turned. What else are best friends for?"
I shrugged. "Must be a guy thing then." I handed it to him. "What about Artemis."
Wally carefully took the ring. It was a silver arrow bent in a circle, with a diamond for the arrowhead.
"If Artemis says yes, well, you know I'd rather have her at my side then behind me."
