Iwan POV.

He looks at me as his eyes look watery but he held it together.

"She was just thirteen years old." He paused and looked away from me. "She and one of her fathers niece's went to the park nearby their old house they use to live in. Sophie was her name, she was 9 years old. I remember seeing her a few year ago. Brown hair gray eyes. Beauty. Maya's father has strong traits." He smile and looks at me but soon enough that smiles goes away.

"They went to the park and thats when the Salvadorians got them and took them to a warehouse not far from there. before that we had killed a few of the Salvadorians important men and they wanted to get back at us hard. It took them a lot to find what they could take from us and somehow they had found about my sister, Maya's mother."

At this point I have never seen a grown a** man cry. I was expecting to see a weak man cry but never my father, mafia boss crying.

"They took Maya and Sophie and torture them both. Those son of a bitches burned them, cut them, wiped them like they were nothing fragile. Like if they weren't beating children."

He wiped his tears with the back of his hand and hearing this pissed me off a lot.

"They have been missing for two days before we found them. Both of them were injured badly.. Sophie died of blood lost and hyperthermia before we even found them. All I could see was Maya pale face in shock. Her body was trembling. Her body full of scars, cuts and burns, the same with Sophie. Maya was holding her. Telling her to open her eyes. If we haven't found them that day Maya would have been dead. She has a huge scar underneath her ribcage and she was losing blood slowly."

Never in my life have I felt heartbroken. Seeing my dad cry like that sadden me. I will protect Maya with my life.

"Maya was always a stubborn girl at that age. She was the angel that could get away with murder. She had this attitude that would always make you laugh and she was your normal average teenage girl. The day of the incident she became slow, shy, all that shit she is. She was mute for three years. Not long ago did she started to come out of her shell. But I wouldn't blame her. Shes still traumatized."

He cleared his throat and stood up. He turned around without saying a word and headed to his room.

Maya's POV.

I watch as Mrs. Jefferson writes our notes on the overhead while she has the radio on.

Everyone in class turned in their homework so we had a 'reward' which was listen to the radio.

I know it's nothing cool and all that but going to a strict high school this is the best we get. Well not only that they give us small treats, movie Friday's and early out's which means we are dismissed 30 minutes early. Sometimes.

I feel my stomach growl and I can't wait for this bell to ring so we can go to lunch.

I look back up to the overhead and see Mrs. Jefferson put down her marker. I scribble on my paper writing all the notes down.

Everyone around me has already finish and are waiting for the bell, me on the other hand am writing the last few bullets. Which are large paragraphs.

*Ding*

Boom on my last word. I let out a sigh and run a hand through my hair. I put my notes in my folder and into my binder. Without saying goodbye I head to the door and stand outside waiting for Henry and Alex.

Looking out the large window I notice two black trucks parked on the curb. three men stood on the side. They all had dark sunglasses which made the hairs on y neck stand up.

"Maya let's go." I jump and look to my left and see Henry at the end of the hall waiting for me. I smile and make my way towards him.

I speed walk towards him while I hold my binder to my side. I let out a sigh.

"What's wrong?" Henry says as he takes my binder.

"Just hungry." My stomach growls louder and both Henry and I laugh. He wraps his arm around me and pulls me towards him.

"You know I love you." He says as he kisses the side of my head. I roll my eyes at him. "Can I have your ice-cream?" He asked and I laugh at him.

"Yes." I say and he giggles like a little girl.

We take a seat at our normal table. All my brother's friend's are sitting at the table. I watch as they all say hi to each other and talk about whatever guys talk about as I wait for Alex brings my lunch.

I thank him before I stuff my face with the food, I was really hungry today so I had no shame in showing it.

One thing about my brother's Henry and Alex is they both got held back. Just so they can watch me. Mom was really angry on what they both did but she didn't know it was my dad's idea.

They are both smart but I know they did it so they could watch me.

And we all are graduating together.

I eat my sandwich that Marco got me. As I take a second bite my phone rings.

Why is your phone ringing? The little voice in my head asks.

I take out my phone and I don't recognize the number I still answer it.

"Hello?" I question not knowing who it will be.

"You're on break, I'm just checking on you." His voice rings into my ear.

"Iwan?" I whisper to him.

"Yes. How are you doing."

"I- um- I'm doing good- Thank you for asking Iwan... How are you?" I could feel my face blushing at the moment.

I hear him chuckle which makes me blush. "I'm doing fine baby, I can't wait until you get back so I can hold you." I could hear him smile. "It's really boring here if I don't see you."

"Who are you talking to?" Alex asks me and I look at him but I don't answer him. "Who. Are. You. Talking. To. Maya?"

Before I could answer he snatches my phone away from me.

"Who is this!" He says with an angry tone.

"You shouldn't be calling while she's in school."

"I don't fucking care! She's in school." And with that he hanged up the phone and places it in his pocket.

I look up and see everyone looking at us. Henry looks at Alex before looking at me. Everyone goes back to eating

I knew I wasn't getting my phone back until the end of the day so I just continue to eat my lunch.

I hate seeing my brother's mad. It scares me a lot.
