Different But Loved

Chapter 21

A week later.

'Does he bite?' I write down on my notebook for uncle Richard can read. I look at the huge dog in front of me.

"No. He wouldn't bite his owner." Uncle Richard says as he hands me his leash. My eyes widened at the moment he takes larges steps making his way towards me.

I drop the leash taking steps behind me, trying to get away from the dog slowly. I heard if you ran he would bite you.

I nod my head 'no'. I walk slow as the dog follows me with his head low. He is going to bite me he can smell my fear.

"Maya he will be your protector, watch dog when your are outside alone."

I trip on my feet and fall right on top of my butt. Before uncle Richard could reach me Marcus the dog comes running towards me. He pushes me dog, laying right on top of me. He began to lick my face but I push his large face away from me.

I giggle as he sits right in front of me his tail wagging all over the place. I smile at the dog and grab his face. He wasn't that scary after all.

"Maya!" Iwan picks me up from the ground. "I have a surprise for you." He intertwine our hands together and leads me inside as Marcus is by my side.

I bend over and grab the leash. I look back up to see Iwan looking at me with eyes that have love in them. He had told me he loves me so many times and it makes my stomach flip but I'm too weak to tell him.

But I do love him too.

We pass the living room and head to the kitchen where I hear laughing. I stop dead track and look up at Iwan who has a smile on his face.

I breath out and a smile makes it's way on my face. I hand him Marcus and quickly open the kitchen door to see my family. Only for my smile to fade away just a little when I see He's not here.

Jason.

I look into my mom's eyes who has a huge smile on her face. Her hands spread out.

'Mom!' I mouth and I saw that sad expression on her face. The moment I didn't say mom. My whole family learned how to read lips when I was mute so I don't have to write so much.

'I miss you all.' I mouth as I hug my dad, Mike, Henry, and Alex.

"We missed you too!" Alex says as he picks me up.

I look at Mike who keeps looking at me. As if he is judging on how I look.

'What?' I say to him and he slowly makes eye contact with me before smiling.

"You're getting fat. Hey Iwan keep on feeding her because she would never want to eat." He looks over to Iwan and I saw some pride on his face as Mike said he was taking good care of me.

That is a lie!! I do eat but Mike, Alex, Henry and Jason eat way too much! I don't even think they take a bite out of their food. You'll see them grab one slice of pizza and next thing you know they having another one.

We all went to the living room and sat there talking about summer coming and that we all should have a party since Iwan birthday is coming up.

Iwan laid a hand on my thigh but it didn't bother me because its normal, but the reason I'm bringing this up is because I notice all the boys eyes on his hand. Mike clear his throat as both Alex and Henry moved awkwardly.

"So Iwan do you have any plans for your birthday or what." My dad said, his eyes still on his hand. It looked like if he wanted to cut off Iwan hand off for being on me.
