Not a lot of people came. It was just family. Maya didn't even have friends so no one from her school came, today is the last day we get to see her before she's buried seven feet in the ground.
It feels so fake. I didn't believe that she was dead. I was sure she was okay. This? Is this what my dad felt when mom died? Does it feel like something is gone.
"Iwan it's time." Lorenzo said as he brought me back into reality.
I looked to my left and saw her family. Her father. Her mother. Her brothers. Jason.
They lost the last little girl they had. Not only did they lose Sophia and Maya, but they lost them from the same person who killed their youngest the first time.
I got up and fixed my tie as I walked to her family. I knew they didn't want to see me because I was the reason why she isn't here.
Maya's mother stopped and looked at me, her eyes red. She smiled up at me. I knew her smile was faked but what can you say?
"I expected the worse." She whisper to me. "Always expect the worse. Rich. Poor." She looked down in her purse and pulled something out. "She order this online. For your birthday." She pulled out a medium sized box.
I was going to open it but she snatched it. "Not here. Open it when I'm gone."
She let out a sob before she grabbed my hand, her arms trembled as her husband stood beside her. "Did you at least know the sex of the baby?"
I nodded my head no and she smiled down at me.
"I know she was still early but I had a dream of a girl so I'm going to say it was a boy." She smiled and took out another box from her purse. "This was for him."
I looked down at the box and opened it.
I couldn't help the silent tears that fell from my eyes.
She gave me a black onesie that said, 'No One Sleeps Until I Say So.'
"Iwan." She said firmly to me. She embraced me into a hug. She whispered into my ear and everything went mute.
"Yes ma'am."

Next Day
"We are here today for Maya. A beautiful soul-"
I looked around and saw these people here for 'her'.
It was just suppose to be my family and her's but everyone from the underground came to pay their respects to the girl they never even met.
Men in suits were the main ones here. A few women from the other parties but men in suits surrounded her grave. Bosses order chairs for their woman as they stood.
There was another funerals going on. The first one wasn't far but it wasn't close either, and than ours.
"People who cared about her-"
Bullshit!!!!! These people didn't care for her.
THE ONLY REASON THEY ARE HERE IS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO BECOME ALLIES.
They know if they become 'friend' with the Salvadorians they will be killed.
This isn't the first time, so they know not to get involved when war has begun.
They know the Russian Mafia still stands tall. There was never a point that we fallen.
Those sons of bitches will pay and I swear to my life if I don't kill them, Jason better be the one too do it.
***
Flower surround her grave.
Will she know that people actually came to her funeral? People who love her and people who didn't even know her?
It's like each man brought a dozen roses and flower and just stacked them up against each other.
I can't even explain how shitty it looks. It looks like a bed of flowers.
"Sir." Boris said and I got up from the chair. "We're being watched."
And than it began.
