Third person's POV
Charlotte was in her seat, reading another textbook while Blake did the same thing. He couldn't really focus on what he was reading since there were eyes staring at him.
Their homeroom teacher arrived and told them to sit down on their seats properly so they did as they were told, this made Blake sigh in relief. But in reality he wasn't really reading the book, he just uses it so that no one would see him take quick glances at Charlotte.
Charlotte, on the other hand, knew he was taking quick glances at her but she just ignored him and continued reading. "Is this what friends do? I'm confused..." she groaned at this and stopped reading.
The bell rang signaling everyone that it was time for the first period, which was Math.
Charlotte's POV
It was finally time for Math class, one of my favorite subjects.
The teacher came in the room and we started class until the teacher announced, "Alright class, for the whole period we are going to do a by pair activity on quadratic functions." every girl cheered until, "Your partner will be your seatmate." the teacher finished and started distributing the worksheets.
I remained calm by what the teacher said. "I guess I'm Blake's partner." I looked at him and he seemed... Tense?
The teacher handed me the worksheet and smiled at me. "It seems that she only did this so I can make friends... All teachers must pity me because I don't socialize at all." I sighed. "I wonder what the rest of the teachers planned." I said
"What do you mean?" Blake gave me a confused look as he moved his seat closer to mine. "N-nothing. Nevermind that let's just do the activity." I reassured him. "Okay." he smiled at me which caused the girls to scream.
"Teacher! Can I be Blake's partner!" "Yeah! Me too!" the girls started having a dispute. "I'm sorry girls but Blake's partner is Charlotte from now on." the teacher uttered.
"What do you mean "from now on"?" they asked. "Well, from now on our class activities will be by pair so that you can help and teach each other with the problems you know or don't know." the teacher announced.
Third person's POV
All girls got dissapointed and started glaring at Charlotte . "Hmph, lucky." "It's not like she needs a partner anyway, she can do anything on her own after all." "She was better of alone." they started trash talking her and returned to their seats to start the activity.
Charlotte remained composure and scanned the worksheet. "So this is what she meant by bullies..." Blake frowned seeing her tolerate all these things when she did nothing wrong.
Blake patted her shoulder, trying to reassure her that everything will be fine. Charlotte just sighed and continued working together with Blake.
Charlotte's POV
"He doesn't seem to find any difficulty in answering some of these. I guess he studied in advance." I was glad that I wouldn't be burdened with more work. I couldn't help but smile a bit.
"Why don't you smile all the time, Charlotte?" Blake whispered so he won't attract attention from the class. "I-i um... Nevermind that." I shook my head and cleared my throat hoping that he would drop the subject. He just chuckled and ruffled my hair causing me to blush a bit. It's a good thing no one saw us.
We were already done with the activity but the others were still answering so I just read my textbook to pass the time.
It wasn't long until Math class ended and we bid the teacher good bye and proceeded to the next subject which was English.
The teacher came in and told us, "Alright class, we will have a by pair activity in which you will construct 5 sentences for each of the sentence patterns. Your partner will be your seatmate. Please do it quietly."
"I guess we're partners again, Charlotte." Blake's enjoying this, it's obvious with his facial expression.
It didn't take long for us to finish. It was very easy to do since Blake was able to help with the rest. "That wasn't hard." Blake stretched his arms already tired when it was only the second period in the morning. But I wouldn't blame him, it's really exhausting for the mind.
I'm starting to get migraines but I just ignored them. I inhaled and exhaled hoping the pain would go away but it still hurts. I rubbed my temples to soothe my headache. It hurts so much that I want to hit my head on my desk.
Blake's POV
It's only the second period and I feel exhausted. I feel mentally drained. I wanted to take a little nap but the teacher might scold me.
I looked to where Charlotte was and she seems to be in pain some how. "Are you alright, Charlotte?" I was concerned for her. "I'm fine." she groaned a bit as she massaged her temples.
It was obvious that she was lying so I wouldn't worry about her. "I should bring you to the infirmary." I stood up to inform the teacher but she stopped me before I could.
"No. It's fine, Blake. It's just a headache, I'll be fine in no time." she tried to reassure me.
I felt her forehead to see that she has a fever. "Charlotte, you have a fever. I have to take you to the infirmary now." I panicked.
I stood up and told the teacher, "Teacher! Charlotte has a fever. Can I accompany her to the infirmary?" the teacher nodded and I assisted her to stand up.
The girls were disappointed, they probably wanted that to happen to them. I just rolled my eyes and focused on Charlotte's condition.
Charlotte's POV
Blake assisted me to the infirmary even though I told him not to. I'm glad he was actually concerned about me. My head started spinning and my body was getting warmer by the minute.
"I should've took you to the infirmary earlier." he was blaming himself. "No. It was my fault. I didn't want you to worry about me. I should've taken care of myself more properly." I didn't want to see him blaming himself for something I'm responsible for.
"I'm glad to have made a friend like you, Blake." I told him. "Why would you sa--" before Blake could finish, my head started spinning, my body couldn't take it anymore and with that I collapsed but before I was consumed by the darkness, I heard Blake scream "Charlotte!" and everything went black.
