Blake's POV
The rain won't stop pouring hard and the thunder and lightning didn't stop either. I was with Charlotte at the moment and she was shivering.
"Don't worry, Charlotte. I'm here for you." I whispered. I patted her head soothingly and she seemed to be calming down.
I kept on patting her head and she breathed normally. She was asleep by that time. I smiled at her and rested my head on the wall.
Charlotte's POV
I fell asleep from the soothing pats of Blake's hand and woke up to another unknown place. "Is this another dream?" I couldn't help but wonder.
"Hey Charlotte! Wanna play?" a boy that seemed to be 6 years old asked a girl that seemed to be a year younger than his age.
"What game?" the young girl asked. "Let's play the game where the knight, which is me, rescues the princess, which is you!" he pointed at the young girl and she laughed and played along.
After the young boy, playing the knight, rescued the young girl, playing as the princess, they sat down beside each other, exhausted. "That was fun!" the young boy spoke. "It sure was!" the girl cheered.
After a few minutes of resting and catching there breaths, "We'll always be the best of friends, right? You won't replace me for anyone else, right?" the young boy asked, looking sad. "Of course!" the girl reassured him, holding the boy's hands which caused him to blush.
"Even if we won't see each other for years?" "Absolutely!" "That's a promise, okay?" the boy held out his pinky finger and the girl wrapped her pinky with his. "It's a promise!" she smiled.
"Who...?" I asked but then my dream started to go blurry and I woke up in Blake's arms. "You okay?" he asked, concerned. "I'm okay." I sat up and remembered the state we were currently in.
The rain was still pouring down but the thunder and lightning stopped. Blake still held me close in his arms. "I'm glad to have him by my side..." I stayed silent.
Blake's POV
I held her close to me as the rain kept pouring. "Hey Charlotte..." I ran my fingers down her hair, she stayed silent. "The thunder and lightning stopped but the rain is still pouring, only lightly though. Let's head to our homes before the rain starts getting stronger." she nodded.
As we went out the school building, the rain was beginning to pour hard again. "Did you bring an umbrella with you?" I asked and she shook her head.
I pulled out my foldable umbrella from my bag and I held her close to me. "I'll take you home then. Come on, let's go." we began walking, luckily my house was close by to hers.
When we were just one block away from where our houses were located, the thunder crashed. I felt Charlotte jump and pulled herself closer to me.
"It's okay, Charlotte. I'm here. I'm always here." I told her as I patted her head. She looked up at me with tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes. "R-really?" she was shivering.
I hugged her and kissed her forehead, "Of course." I smiled at her and she smiled back lightly then we continued to walk. Hand in hand.
"Your house is around here, right?" I asked her. She nodded and led the way. After walking a little bit further, "We're here." we stopped in front of a house and just in time since the water reached our ankles.
"Alright then, bye." I waved and walked home but Charlotte held my arm to refrain me from going farther, "Wait!" she said. "What is it?" I asked.
"Um.. Thank you, Blake." she smiled genuinely at me while pink hues lightly dusted on her cheeks. I smiled and patted her head, "No problem." I said and left.
Charlotte's POV
I went inside my house and unlocked the door. I sat down for a moment before touching my hand.
Even though he isn't holding my hand anymore, I can still feel the warmth of his hand still lingering on my own and the touch of his lips when he kissed my forehead, just moments ago.
He's so protective, caring, and dependable. He even took the liberty of walking me home so I won't fear the thunder and lightning.
"If only I asked him to stay... He's probably soaked by now..." I sighed and stood up to take a bath.
While I bathed, I couldn't help but think about the dream I just had. "Could that young boy be..." I thought but set those thoughts aside and turned the shower off.
"It's a good thing the rain stopped. I hope Blake didn't catch a cold and that he made it safely." I thought and went out the bathroom to dry off.
After drying my hair, I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door and saw a letter on the ground. "Eh? What's this?" I picked up the letter and opened it.
I missed you, my princess. Do you still remember me? Please don't forget about our promise...
xoxoI let the letter fall off my hand. There was only one person who would call me that... "This... This is..."
"Hello, my princess... Did you miss me?" I couldn't believe to hear that voice again.
I turned around and saw him. It has been so long since I saw last him. My one and only, Knight in Shining Armor. But that was years ago. I've moved on from that time.
Third person's POV
"I'll be seeing you tomorrow, Charlotte. I just wanted to stop by and see how you were doing..." he said before turning around and headed back to where his home was.
But before that, he looked back at Charlotte, who was still reviving from the sudden visit.
"I've come to take you back, my dearest princess... Because a knight is bound by his word." he smirked and walked home, satisfied to see his precious princess once again.
