First Person's POV
It's already been a week since they started practicing for their school play. So, the teacher decided to give the students a break on the weekends.
It was a windy day and the five were in the living room of the Riley household.
Mark's POV
We were in the living room of Charlotte's house playing some video games. Jake and Charlotte were in the kitchen baking treats while Blake, Lucy and I were left here.
"I wonder why..." I said as I paused the game to face Blake. "Wonder what?" he asked. "It's very unlike you to bring us with you to Charlotte's house." I replied.
"Er... The teacher gave us a break from practices so I just wanted to hangout with all of you guys." he stated. "Yeah... Hangout with all of us,huh..." I retorted. "Even hangout with Jake...?" Lucy asked.
"He was already here when we came, wasn't he?" he rolled his eyes and started playing the game again. "I should've saw that coming though..." he mumbled and sulked even more when I beat him in the game.
"You're hopeless, really." I sighed and handed the controller to Lucy. "And why am I hopeless?" Blake narrowed his eyes at me.
"Hm..." I thought, "The fact that you can't confess to the girl you love would be the best example, really!" I grinned.
"Shut up." he said as he hit my head, "Ouch!" I screeched and rubbed my head. "I'm working on it, okay? I just need to find the perfect time and place." he stated as a matter-of-factly.
Lucy's POV
"Perfect time and place, huh?" I put on a straight face. "I don't think you'll have any difficulty with the competition, though." Mark smirked playfully.
"And why is that?" "Since you're competition is in the kitchen with the love of your life and probably making his move by now?" he snickered.
"..." he froze and dashed to the kitchen. "Meanie." I said jokingly. "I'm just giving him a little push. You heard Jake's story, right?" he winked.
"I guess so.." I replied. "Like I said, there's no problem with the competition..." he said quite knowingly while resting his chin on the palm of his hand.
He reassured me with his words but still, "Is it alright?" I couldn't help but worry for them. "Wanna play?" he asked, knowing I can't resist a video game.
Charlotte's POV
"The chocolate chip cookies are almost done." I announced while Jake handed me a plate. "The milkshakes are as cold as ever now." he said and took a tray to place them into.
"I suddenly remembered us doing this when we were still kids, princess." he smiled. "Yeah, pretty nostalgic, huh Knight?" I said jokingly.
He just nodded and laughed. "I missed doing these things with you while I was in Australia." he put on a sad smile.
"Hey, I'm with you now, aren't I?" I patted his shoulder and gave him my reassurance. "I'll always be with you..." I smiled genuinely.
Jake's POV
"Thanks, princess." I smiled back and kissed the back of her hand. She blushed at what I did and when I realized what I've done I blushed as well.
She laughed and caressed my red cheeks, "You're really weird... But I like that." I laughed and thought of how lucky I was to have someone like her.
Charlotte's POV
"It's normal that best friends kiss each other's hands, right?" I blushed at Jake's gesture.
Ba thump. Ba thump.
"What is this feeling?" I felt the same thing with Blake during our practices.
"Oh hey, Blake." I snapped out of my thoughts. "I just came to help, may I?" he smiled at me.
Ba thump. Ba thump.
"There it is again... What is this?" I sighed and shrugged. "You're just in time, Blake. You and Jake can carry the tray of treats." I grinned as the oven signaled that the cookies were ready.
"Yes ma'am!" they saluted and I chuckled at them.
Blake's POV
I carried the tray and we made our way out of the kitchen.
"I don't know when, where or how but one day I'll tell those three words to her... I just have to find the right time, if not, Jake will win her over." I thought as I looked over at Charlotte and she looked back.
"I love you."
