Charlotte's POV
I yawned as I walked to school this morning. I didn't sleep that well last night because of that nightmare.
"She deserves to be alone." "Why can't she just dissappear?" "She useless." those voices kept echoing in my head as I walked to school.
It hurts that even your own mind plays these sickening things in your head. But I had to stay focus for today and put these problems aside.
"I wonder what will happen today..." I said to myself. "Yeah, I wonder myself too..." a voice responded with a yawn. "W-Wai- What?!" I looked to my side to find Blake half asleep. I was startled by his sudden appearance.
"Good morning, Charlotte." Blake stretched his arms as he yawned again. "Good morning, Blake. Are you alright?" I asked him. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just didn't get enough sleep last night." he responded.
"Why?" I asked. "Um... No reason. Just forget about it... Let's head to the library and study together." he changed the topic and looked away, avoiding my question.
"When you say "study together" you mean I study while you sleep in the library, right?" I raised an eyebrow as I crossed my arms. "I guess you caught me..." he sheepishly laughed.
Blake's POV
I couldn't really tell her my reason for not being able to sleep last night because it evolves around her. I didn't want her to feel like a burden.
We continued walking as I was stuck in my own thoughts.
~Flashback~
I laid down in my bed with the thought of Charlotte still lingering in my head. She was sleeping peacefully in the infirmary but she started to twist and turn. She look troubled.
It hurts me to see her like that. Even in her sleep, she isn't allowed to have a moments peace. I shook her gently, trying to wake her up. " Are you alright, Charlotte? Please wake up."
She woke up, eventually. "Are you alright?" I looked at her with worry written all over my face. "Yeah. I'm fine. It's over now." she reassured me, covering it up with a slight smile.
I smiled back at her but inside I frowned, "You can't lie to me, Charlotte. I know you're troubled but you just don't want me to worry about you..." I thought to myself as we went back to class and continued the day.
~Present~
We entered the library and Charlotte walked to her usual study area with me following right behind her.
She sat down and started reading silently while I laid my head down on the table to get a few minutes of sleep.
"I don't like seeing you hurt, Charlotte. You know I'm right here for you... So why? Why won't you rely on others for help when you're in trouble?" I was worried for her, worried that she might be consumed by all the emotions she's been building up all this time.
I heard Charlotte yawn lightly, she mustn't have gotten any sleep last night either. Maybe, it was because of her nightmare yesterday.
"You didn't get enough sleep last night, didn't you?" I looked up at her. "Y-yeah, I guess so." she didn't look at me but at her book.
"You should stop reading for a while. It's better if you rest, you've been through a lot yesterday. Who knows what will happen today..." I told her. "I can't do that, I have to study a bit more." she continued reading her book until I snatched it from her hand.
"H-hey! Give that back." she tried grabbing it from my hand but I held it up so she won't be able to reach it. "Nope. You're already smart, Charlotte. You don't need to go overboard with studying, besides you might catch those migraines again... And I don't want that to happen." I sighed and frowned at her.
"Fine. I won't read, for now." she groaned, giving in. I gave her back the book and she put it in her bag. "Good. Now get closer to me so you can rest on my shoulder." I gestured her to come closer.
"I-it's fine. I can just rest my head on the table." she blushed out of embarrassment and looked away. "Come on, only for a few minutes. No one's here to see us, anyway." I grinned at her. "There aren't any fangirls this early in the morning, you know." I joked.
She protested but gave in, once again. "This is just for a few minutes." she told me and laid on my shoulder. I held her close to me as sleep was taking over.
After a few minutes, I can hear her lightly snoring. She looked adorable as she slept peacefully on my shoulder. I felt that she trusts me and that she knows I'm only doing this for her own well being.
I smiled at that meaningful thought and just watched Charlotte sleep. "I worry about you, Charlotte." I laid my head on top of hers as we stayed in that position.
Charlotte's POV
I closed my eyes as sleep was taking over me. I felt secure in Blake's hands, he was worried about me. I can actually trust someone to be there for me.
I woke up to see a door right in front of me. I am not sure where I am. "I must still be dreaming... ?"
I opened the door to find a child running around happily. It was a familiar scenery, more like a distant memory.
"Charlotte, don't do to far! Play where mom and dad can see you okay, dear?" what seemed to be her mom told her "Okay!" the little girl said.
"This was when I was 6 years old. This was my favorite park when I was young." memories of my past started flowing through my mind, for once in my life I'm actually happy to have remembered this.
I almost forgot about this park. This park was filled with happy moments of me and my family. But we stopped coming here when my parents got busy with work. It was fun while it lasted.
I hope to come back here again. And maybe someday, I'll come here with --
I woke up to find a tear escape my eye and Blake looking worried as always. "Are you alright, Charlotte? Did you have a nightmare again?" he was concerned.
I wiped the tear that fell from my eye, "It was a good dream actually. I remembered an important memory of my past." I smiled at him.
Blake's POV
I started to worry about her again when a tear fell from her eye, only to find that it was a tear of joy. I was glad that she slept peacefully this time and she even remembered an important memory. "An important memory? What is it?" I was curious to know what it was.
"I'll tell you another time but for now let's go to the classroom." she stood up and walked to the classroom leaving me to wonder what that memory was.
"H-hey! Wait up, Charlotte!" I took off after her.
"I'm glad to see you feeling much better, Charlotte. I hope you'll always be like this... Whenever you're with me." I thought to myself as we walked to class. Together.
