Third person's POV
It's been a week since Jake transferred into the school. There weren't many changes, only that he brings Charlotte a sense of companionship whenever they're at school.
It was once again the weekend and Jake was at Charlotte's house doing Math homework that's to be passed on Monday, which was tomorrow.
Jake's POV
I laid my head down on the table as I sighed in defeat. "I'm never gonna get this..." I grumbled. "Let me help you, Jake. I'm already finished with it anyway." Charlotte smiled as she sat beside me.
"Okay, this one's easy. First you have to... then you..." she explained it to me thoroughly. I listened carefully to her instructions and immediately understood.
"Did you get it?" she asked. "Yup! It really is easy. Thanks, princess!" I grinned. "Good thing you're a fast learner or else that would've taken a while." she joked."What's that supposed to mean?" I pouted and looked away. "I was just kidding, Jake." she laughed as she hugged me, asking for forgiveness.
I smiled at the hug, it was something that I missed so much while I was at Australia. She would always be there to give me hugs when we were little, sometimes she'd just hug me for no reason. That's what I love about her.
After things have calmed down, I started doing the homework and finished quickly. We just started to talk about many little things.
"Maybe... I should tell her how I feel... But I might get rejected or I'd break the friendship we've made all these years..." I contemplated. I soon made up my mind, "Hey princess, I have something to tell you..." I started to feel nervous.
"What is it, dear knight?" she winked at me, playing along like the old times. "Ever since we were little, I've always lo--" I was cut off by the knock on the door.
My heart started pounding hard on my chest. I took deep breathes to calm myself down.
"That was too close..." I thought as I finally calmed myself down. "I wonder who's at the door." I wondered to myself as I stood up to take a look.
Charlotte's POV
"Hello?" I opened the door to see who it was and there wasn't anyone at the door. I took a step outside and was suddenly tackled with a tight hug.
"I missed you so much, Char!" I recognized that voice and it was Lucy. "Hey Charlotte." Mark waved from behind as he pulled her off of me.
"Hey guys. How'd you kno--" I stopped midway once I saw Blake come to view. "Oh, please come in." I gestured as I moved to the side for them to enter.
"What are you guys doing here exactly?" I asked them once we all got inside the house. "Who was--" Jake came and immediately stopped in his tracks as he saw them.
"Hey Jake!" Mark and Lucy greeted. "What're you doing here? Did we ruin something?" Lucy nudged Jake's shoulder. "Not really."
After everyone got settled down, I asked them once again. "What're you guys doing here? I asked. "We just wanted to let you know that we have returned from Bakersfield... so we went to Blake's before coming here." Lucy explained.
"We also wanted to do the homework we missed while we were gone." Mark added. "We were suppose to do it at my house but Lucy insisted we do it here." Blake sighed.
"Well, you should've informed me before you came. I wasn't able to prepare anything for you." I scolded. "We're sorry, Charlotte. We wanted to surprise you." Lucy laughed nervously.
"It's alright." I sighed. "Hey Jake. What's that you got there?" Lucy quickly took the piece of paper that Jake was scribbling on. "A rose?" Mark confirmed in a questioning manner. Jake just nodded and took it from Lucy's hands.
"That's some talent you got there, Jake! Wanna join the Art Club?" Lucy asked with her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "No." Jake replied bluntly.
"Anyway, what was it that you were suppose to tell me, Jake?" I interrupted them as I recalled our conversation from a while ago and wanted to know. Before Jake could say anything, he looked away and scratched his head.
"Forget about it, princess. I'll tell you another time." he smiled, waving his hand. "Okay, if you say so." I smiled as well.
"Eh?! Tell us, Jake!" "It's a secret." "Tell me or else I'll cry!" "Do you think that I'd care if you did?" they continued on ranting as I slipped into the kitchen to make some tea and take out some leftover cake from last time.
I put them all on a tray and began to carry them. "Need some help?" Blake appeared and picked up the tray for me. "Thanks." I thanked him as we walked back.
Third person's POV
They were only outside the kitchen and they could already hear the rants and arguments of the three who were in the living room.
They sweatdropped, "They sure are lively." they said in unison and looked at each other. They smiled at each other and started laughing.
"I like this... Being with you, everyone and forgetting the problems I have to worry about... Just for a while at least." Charlotte smiled at Blake and he smiled back.
"I wish this would last..." Blake admitted, blushing from his statement. "Forever and ever." Charlotte held his hand and blushed along with him. They smiled at each other and continued walking back to the living room.
Jake's POV
"These guys are so... annoying..." I massaged my temples, having enough of the madness these two have brought upon in the living room.
"You guys are like kids." I glared at them who were in the middle of an argument, a childish argument. "No we're not!" they whined in unison.
"Are you guys six years old or something?" I put on a smirk, teasing the two. "We're just having fun. Don't be such a bore, Jake!" Lucy pouted like a kid.
I sweatdropped, "I've been left in this room to watch over two immature teen brats. What's taking those two long?" Lucy was behind me, sitting on the couch and trying to braid my hair.
"Are you okay, my dear knight?" I gleamed as I saw Charlotte arrive. "What took you guys so long?! You left me with these brats, princess!" I whined.
"If Charlotte is the princess and you're the knight... Then can I be the queen?" Lucy grinned playfully. "I'll be the king!" Mark cheered, playing along with Lucy.
"Hey! Would you guys quit it! What happened to the main purpose of your visit, huh?" my eyes twitched in irritation.
"There's no need for us to do it though... Since we're excused, anyway." they snickered. I just groaned at them, giving up. "This is some circle of friends we've got here." Charlotte said, sitting beside me. "Yeah." I chuckled.
It used to be just us two... But I'm glad that you started welcoming others in our little world...
