Introduction!

Since you don't know a thing about me yet, I might as well introduce myself. I'm Emma, Emma Diggory. You know, Cedric's little sister, even though I'm only a year younger than him, being a 6th year. I'm very much like him, but you'll also find me quite a bit different. For an example: Instead of being outspoken and loud, I'm just a shy wallflower. Another difference is that I'm a Gryffindor whilst he is a Hufflepuff. I have quite a few close friends such as Seamus, the Weasley Twins, Luna, the golden trio, and Nicole Silverspoon, Harry's girlfriend. Which is weird since I'm shy, but I go along with it. I'm glad to be their friend, and they're happy to be mine. It can get a little annoying, being Cedric's little sister, seeing as so many girls like him.

But, this is my story, not his, so keep on reading this, if you dare.

"Come on, Emma! Or we're gonna be late!" Nicole calls, throwing the blanket off me, making my body feel the morning cold. Ugh! Why did she always have to wake me up at the worst times? I was having a good dream...About Seamus...The very thought of him made me blush. Seamus Finnigan, why did he have to be so...so...I couldn't find a word to describe him. Ugh, he's just a close friend, Emma. And, therefore he likes you only as a close friend. Got that, Emma?

Hey, it didn't hurt to dream, right? Or was I just going loopy? That answer almost seemed plausible.

"Emma! Don't make me go over there and hurt you! Get up...now!" Emma says, her ads on her hips, and a scowl on her face. She almost could've passed as scary. It was too bad for her, seen as I wasn't all that scared. If anything, I was tired, why couldn't she understand that?

"Don't you have better things to do then annoy people that are trying to sleep?" I question, throwing a pillow at her, and missing but that wasn't the point. It was safe to say that I wasn't going to make it as a baseball player (Or whatever the muggles called it) I had bad aim, and Nicole was probably grateful for that.

Nicole sighs tired of my laziness , "Look at the clock and tell me If I should wake you up or not! Classes start in five minutes! And we both just woke up! Everyone else has left, or they are still in the Common Room getting ready. Why they did not wake us up earlier, I dunno. Maybe Hermione thought we were going to wake up, or she would've woke us up earlier. "

I cursed, and got up faster than you can say, 'He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named!'. How I was asleep that long, I have no clue! Seriously, where does the time go? Time, it was one thing that we needed at the moment. Seeing as we had Potions with Professor Snape first today, and who knows what he would do if we were late!

Nicole just laughs, and we both change into our Gryffindor robes.

The minutes ticked on by faster then I wanted them too, "Hurry up!" Nicole calls, she was already halfway down the halls. I was lagging behind. Stupid time...

"If we wanna make it to Potions on time. " She grins or was that a smirk? "It is tempting to be late, but I don't want any more points taken away from us Gryffindors!"

I laughed, Nicole was Nicole. She hated Snape, and everything to do with Slytherin. I don't blame her, I did too. The Slytherin whom I hated most was...you guessed it, Draco Malfoy. For a few reasons.

1. Being that he picked on my friends.

tries to flirt with me.

3. His snobbish know-it-all attitude.

And, that was just the shortened list. I could go on and on about him.

We walked into the Potions Room, five minutes late. Everyone's head turned, and the class looked at us. Draco had a smirk playing upon his face. Dirty little ferret, I thought to myself. Sighing, I glance about the room again. Looking for a certain someone. When I saw Seamus, my heart melted. He gave me a 'good luck' smile. I smiled back, hoping nobody would catch my blush.

Snape paused the lesson, and turned to us, "Nice of you two to finally join us. Twenty points from Gryffindor from each of you." He sneers, his tone was mocking.

Some great day this was turning out to be, I thought to myself. What else could go wrong.

"Now that we are all here, here are your seating arrangements. Hermione with Pansy. Harry and Crabbe. Ron and Goyle. Nicole and Seamus, Draco and Emma."

"What?" How could this happen? How could this day get any worse? Ugh, I jinxed it, didn't I? Why couldn't Nicole and I switch? She got to be with Seamus, and it wasn't fair. Why was Snape paring up the Gryffindors with the Slytherins, he knew that we hated each other. Or did he just feel like ruining our lives some more? That was probably it. He was doing a great job of it so far.

Professor Snape gives me a look, "Keep up that behavior, and you'll get another detention. " He said in a monotonously bored voice.

I was stuck. I had no choice but to sit next to the ferret. Great.

Once Snape had finished giving out the seating arrangements for the day, he continued on with the assignment, wasting no time, "Today you will be creating a potion called Confusing Concoction. The ingredients needed are on page 225."

Turning to page 225, I saw Draco smiling at me out of the corner of my eyes. I never trusted Draco, never will. He looked like he was up to something. The stupid spoiled ferret.

"What?" I demand, retuning his smile with a glare. Why was he smiling? Something was up, but what?

Draco winked, "Aww, don't be like that. You just can't resist me, can you? No wonder Snape placed us two together. " Uh oh, did Draco tip Snape to place us two together, or was that what he wanted me to think? If it was what he wanted me to think, it was working.

"Get away from me. Or get working on the Potion. Or, here why don't you go and get the ingredients, ferret." I hissed through clenched teeth, and hand him the book with the ingredients. Maybe he'll get the hint and stay away from me. Forever. I highly doubt that, but it wouldn't hurt to dream. Looking around the room, I see Seamus staring straight at me. My face heated and I turned away faster than I had turned around. Why was he staring at me? Did it mean anything? Or was he just looking around the room, like I was?

"Are you blushing because I have returned, or blushing because you missed me?" A voice asked. My face full, Draco was back.

"Neither. I don't like you. And, I never will. But I guess that is just too hard a concept for your pea sized brain to understand, isn't it?" I muttered, my face red from anger.

"Whoa there." Draco says, "I know you like me." I could feel his breath on my ear. Too close my mind was screaming! Draco's arm was starting to snake around my waist. Uh oh...I slapped Draco clear across the face.

"Miss Diggory! Twenty points away from Gryffindor, plus another detention! Would you please care to explain why you hit Mr. Malfoy? I'm sure an apology is needed." Snape declares, his face red, and his anger clearly written upon it.

Stupid! Why did I do that? I've never hit someone during school. Ever. Usually it was just my brother and I, messing around. What should I say?

"What? Draco was provoking her! I saw it." Says a voice that made me blush, Seamus. He was sticking up for me.

The whole class turned their heads, probably glad for the distraction. At least they wouldn't notice my blush. Did Seamus like me? Or was he just sticking up for me, seeing as I was a close friend. Why did I always overreact whenever Seamus came into the picture?

Professor Snape turned and looked at me, "Is what Mr. Finnigan says true?"

Draco glared at me, I just ignored him, "Yes." I admitted, would Snape even believe me over his 'star student'? Answer: Probably not. Oh well it was worth a try though.

"What? I never touched her, she touched me! Lies, I tell you, lies."Draco huffed, his face turned red as well.

Professor Snape sighed, "I have no way of knowing the full truth, so Draco and Emma will both have detention!" He declares, waving his hand up, annoyed. Yes! Better than having points taken off as well. One measly detention is nothing. The class seemed to lose interest, and went back to work. I gave Seamus a 'thank you' look, and he winked back. Do I really need to tell you how I felt?

Draco left me alone the rest of the class period. I grinned at least Draco and I were even...for now.
