Elizabeth never ceased to quit, did she? Whenever she could, she tried to sabotage me and Seamus. It really was getting on my nerves. All she knew how to do was ruin one's life. Though no matter how hard she tried, Seamus always stuck to me like glue. It seemed like Seamus didn't even like Elizabeth. Extra bonus points for me! On the other hand, it seemed Draco was ignoring me. Ever since I got back together with Seamus, Draco left me alone more. He never did tell me what was bugging him, either. He told me he was sworn not to tell, since his father found out he was planning on telling someone. One day, he did promise me that he will tell me what was up, until then, I had to resume life as normally as I could. As always.
Cedric and Cho did decide upon taking a break. I knew they still loved each other, but it was for the best. If they wanted to, they could still get back together. It was for the best that they take a break. Whether or not they get back together is up to them. Cedric is slowly returning back to his normal self, he isn't used to not being with Cho yet. At least they have agreed to be friends.
Ever since Dumbledore made the announcement about the dance, everyone was going crazy. Ron was going with Hermione. Harry was obviously going with Nicole. Dean and Parvati were going together. Cedric and Luna. Cho and her ex-boyfriend Michael Corner (Well probably her current boyfriend now.)Which probably made Ginny mad, seeing as she dated Michael as well. Ginny also didn't have a date yet, making her even more depressed. Nicole and I made plans about setting up a date for her, but Ginny didn't know that yet. We had a special plan Fred and George helped us with it. Today was the day that plan was turned into action.
"Wake up, Emma!" A voice urged me. Nicole. Did she have to wake me this early? It was also a Saturday. Does Saturday mean sleeping in? Not waking up your best friend at like…7 A.M.? Okay, maybe it's not that early, but I think you would agree with me that on a weekend, it is. Nicole grinned, seeing my pain.
"I am so going to kill you later. Poor Harry won't be seeing you anymore," I hissed under a groan while I slowly threw off the covers. Nicole faked a shriek in fear.
"You and what army?" She replied, giggling as she put up her hair in a messy looking bun. She was so going to get it later.
"I'll have Cedric and the Weasley Twins help me," I retorted, changing out of my pajamas.
Nicole smiled at me, "You know you love me. I know you care." She teased me. I rolled my eyes.
"Sure I do."
"Keep it down!" A few other girls hollered, apparently also annoyed with Nicole. Hermione laughed, she was up as well. And she looked the most awake out of all of us, might I add.
"You do know that some people wake up early to enjoy the day. Not spend it sleeping in until noon." Hermione said as she sat on my bed.
"Hermione is helping us as well," Nicole whispered, answering my question before I even asked it.
"Okay," I replied, sighing as I realized Hermione must have been the main reason of why we had woken up so damn early.
Once I was up (or as awake as I could be) and dressed, we made our way down into the common room. Operation Date had started.
Nicole dragged me over to a corner. So far, Operation Date wasn't doing so hot. Nicole looked pretty happy with herself though. As if she held the best secret ever. Or something like that. Her eyes sparkled and she grinned.
"I've got it!" She squealed. "Neville can go to the ball with Ginny. He, also, is dateless and plus he does have a crush on her! Besides, they have gone to a dance before. Remember the Yule Ball?" She laughed, and I smiled, too.
"That is awesome!" I grinned. "Is Neville planning on asking her?"
Nicole shrugged, "He told me he was. But you know how he is. I asked him how he was planning on doing it and he said going up and asking. I told him he should ask her some other way. You'll see later." She winked.
Giggling, I saw Hermione heading toward us, her expression grim. Whatever news she had, it wasn't good news. That much we both could tell. My heart sank. Did Elizabeth have something to do with it? Was it Cedric? Did someone die?
"Emma, oh. Emma," Hermione sighed. "I am not sure how to tell you this-so I'll show you!" She led Nicole and I to an empty hallway, and we listened quietly. In another room, we heard voices. Voices I recognized.
"I am planning on giving this love potion to my Won-Won," Lavender Brown giggled, her annoyingly high pitched voice made me cringe. We all knew about her not-so-secret crush on Ron Weasley. Another voice broke the silence.
"I am giving this potion to Dean Thomas," an unidentified voice announces. It was another voice that broke the silence who also broke my heart.
"I am giving this love potion to Seamus Finnigan. The owner of my heart," Elizabeth crooned softly. I gagged, ew!
"Hermione, how can you break a love potion?" I asked, nearly hyperventilating. Great. I bit my lip, grinning wickedly. At least I didn't need to give Seamus a love potion to have him fall in love with me. Elizabeth is helpless. This potion won't last too long. Real love does last.
"It depends on the type of potion. If you want, I can ask one of the professors. They could get in big, big trouble for this you know. Especially if some of the ingredients aren't allowed to be handled by students. You know what happened to that one student a few years ago," Hermione smiled weakly.
"Great. Meet me in the Gryffindor Common Room tonight you two. Bring reinforcements. We have to crush Elizabeth."
