Flash back

My head pounded almost as loudly as the ringing sound. This was not the most important thing happening though since Adeptus was still in his demon form infront of me. He didn't seem to be about to try and attack again just yet so I glanced to the side so I could check what Daren was doing, he was now stood up studying the demon to gaje what was going to happen next- it was a specialty of his. All three of us were held in place waiting for someone to make the next move. From the feeling of concentration mixed with fury in the air I could assume Adeptus was still trying to force me to run just so he could stalk me then kill me. But I wasn't running.

Terror still pulsed through my viens like a flow of hot acid, but I didn't move. In fact part of the reason I didn't move probably was because I was so scared. Everybody held their breath waiting for the next move. Then something happened that I didn't quite expect... Adeptus changed back into his human form. What? Why had he gone back into the weaker more vunerable form? In the swirl of confusion I said,

"Excuse me!" This was a random turn of events. Adeptus stood arms folded right in front of me. He had an expression of annoyed amazment printed on to his creased face which was certainly less intimidating than the demon form though I knew this was only a disguise and not his normal form. I waited for an explantion to his actions. Daren grabbed my hand from behind before he came to stand by my side. The ringing sound having been expeled it was now a silent pause. Waiting for Adeptus to speak, to answer my question. For the moment he only stood and watched me deep in some interesting thoughts. He turned then went to sit back down on his throne. The sudden movement made my heart skitter a little. Once he was comfortably sprawled across his chair he spoke.

" What odd company you keep now a days Daren. Astounding yet very strange company." The sentence was the only thing he said for a minuite or so, he tapped a pale finger against the side of his chair filling the sir with a soft tap, tap, tap, tap, tap. 

"Where did you find her?" He asked Daren while he studied me. With an incredulous expression Daren replied.

"You just attempted to attack her! You really think I'm going to tell you anything more about her?" Adeptus took this with a narrowing of his eyes then reverting back to his questioning look. Placing his graceful hands on his lap Adeptus said confidently.

"Yes I think you are going to Daren."
