In some ways I guessed I was like the smoke. Because besides Daren and Tanya who would care if I were to dissapear. Sure the people from my university might be shocked at the sudden dissapearance but soon they would forget. In the midst of all the blurring life I was only a mere speck- an irriplaceable one, even though, people still would go about their normal day as if nothing was out of the ordinary. This was how it was. How it always had been. How it always would be? Could I possibly change my value to the world?

Yes. Yes I could.

Resolved I squared my shoulders as the demon came ever closer. Blood smoke. Black eyes. Hatred. It sought my destruction. Maybe. Maybe... But not today. Heat rolled of it's coils warming my face reminding me of a camp fire. Daren was near almost touching my back though not quite near enough to grab me. Hotter more intense heat that was stiffling embraced me so my whole body was filled with warmth and it was in every pore of my skin, wafting up into my nose it brought with it a distinct smell of smoldering burning ashy coal still in the raging furnace. So close that if had moved at all I would have touched the two black orbs currently hovering by my face. Dark passionate and angry it had flown towards me, now it faltered. Hesitated. Came to a stop and retracted a few inches. Confusion flowed through it's body and mind  causing it to avert it's eyes from me for a fraction of a second to glance briefly at the floor then back to my eyes probing for the answer it seeked.

Spreading itself out so it was double it's usual size it pushed out as much hatred, fury and power as was possible to watch my reaction. I cringed shivering and shaking but not budging from my position. This enraged Adeptus. He emitted an ear splitting high pitched wail that echoed through the room also through the entire town causing Daren to clamp his hands over his ears while stumbling back a few steps. The temptation to do the exact same thing taunted me, straining I clenched my fists by my sides and forced them not to move to my ears. Even when it had finished my ears still rang so loudly that I couldn't hear anything at all. Not even my own heavy breathing. My head throbed dully at it's centre making me Incapacitated therefore useless. I could still see though. And at that moment I could see the demon swirling and puffing itself up, the whole time keeping it's eyes firmly fixed on mine. The ringing just wouldn't stop. It wasn't even getting any quieter.
