His lips curled up into a cold smile.

"So our little lady has some secrets of her own then I see." Adeptus was clearly enjoying having found a flaw to pick at.

"No wonder she wasn't too quick to judge you on your past. She was just making sure you would have a reason to forgive her being secretive." Adeptus spoke with more emphasis and life than he had at any other time since I met him. It was strange. And it was fake. He was trying to create a gap between me and Daren.

"Excuse me. But I thought you wanted to hear about me so shall I carry on?" I interupted loudly. Adeptus seemed to think over what I had said and decide that he should wait until he knew more about me to really put the effort in to create a gap, he visably relaxed and went back to his listing face. With a vague hand gesture he told me to continue. So I began again to speak to them both.

"I only found out today who my creator was..." Once again Adeptusdecided to input.

"And how did this occurance come about? What happened to reveal this fact to you?" He asked staying stll this time, he asked the question with an air of suspicion, because what could have happened in such a short amount of time that I could have gone through it and still managed to arrive here whilst it was light? It sounded suspicious even to my own ears but it was certainly the truth. I hadn't really intended on telling Adeptus about the visit from Nathanial this morning and the real reason for my being here though now it didn't seem like I had much of an option. How else could I explain what had hapened this morning without revealing the suprise visit?

"Ummm..." I stumbled stalling for time to try and work out an edited version of the previous events without leaving out the main facts about the current topic. Wracking my brain I tried to give a look that would suggest I was recollecting all of the facts instead of leaving them out- I don't know if it worked seen as I thought it best to gaze at the ceiling while doing this so as to avoid direct eye contact with Adeptus, also I tried not to look too nervous.

In any other situation I would have felt fine about telling him everything completetly unedited because I had nothing to hide and him knowing wasn't going to make a difference but I did not trust the human prune of a man that was sitting in front of me awaiting an explanation. Not one little bit. Those beady black eyes were full up to the brim with lies and deadly deciete. Not the eyes you would want to bear your soul to when they did not seem to have one of their own. His thin lips were not ones I assumed to be sealed, not ones locked with a key that had been thrown away, not ones that would hesitate about telling someones secrets. No I did not trust him.

So I had no reason to believe that he was not in leage with Nathaniel or knew him. I didn't know that Nathaniel had any bad intentions but I wasn't about to trust him either. And I wasn't about to let Adeptus jepordise my plan to seek out answers.
